Janet Napolitano - Chief Of Homeland Security???

Barack Obama has made a number of blunders since taking office, but one of his biggest was putting Janet Napolitano in as the head of Homeland Security. Prior to taking the position, Napolitano was Governor of Arizona, a border state to Mexico.

During her "reign", she did everything in her power to open the border and invite every criminal she could into Arizona. Her constant ongoing battle with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio (who did everything he possibly could to find and deport illegal aliens) was continually front page news in Arizona.

Putting Napolitano in charge of Homeland Security is like putting the fox in charge of protecting the hen house!!! You don't protect the country by opening the borders and inviting criminals..

As a governor, Napolitano absolutely LOVED to spend money and when she left office, she left the state with a record deficit that is causing a tax increase that will put Arizona right behind the state of California when it comes to bankrupting the state.

Putting Napolitano in charge of Homeland Security is Obama's way of ensuring this country is overrun with illegal criminals...

I don't know about her politics, but looking at her I wouldn't want to pick a fight with her. However she has some very interesting views on religious extremism so it is possible she may be able to effectively counter the causes of violence and take on other right wing fundamentalist groups than we usually hear about. It depends. She has the executive experience behind her and Arizona has to deal with border security. Maybe she surprises.

Personally, I think one has to consider the source when attempting to understand the foolish decisions that our politicians make as a result of their personal life experience.

As a member of the gay community, I believe that Janet is influenced by her own experience with prejudice and the resultant "compassion" and leniency towards the laws she was supposed to be governing demonstrate a failure to act on behalf of the people who were paying her bills. While attributing her failed performance to her sexual preference seems a little far fetched, I can't, for the life of me, come up with anything else that would justify her soft stance and failed performance on border protection.

Putting Reserve Troops at the border and then revoking their authority to act against this invasion was nothing more than a public relations move. She gleaned the benefits of appearing to have done what the citizens of Arizona demanded that she do, while betraying their trust in her leadership and failing horrifically at defending our borders.

The fact that she is now in charge of our National borders is nothing short of bone-chilling in my opinion.

The lie that Americans won't do the jobs that Mexicans are willing to do is exactly that: a lie.

To add insult to injury, catering to the lack of willingness of these immigrants to integrate and learn our national language has produced a plethora of management, administrative, social service, and government jobs that require Spanish-speaking in order to communicate with a largely illegal population. Yes, as English speaking Americans, we've lost jobs and lots of them.

Janet's performance in Arizona should never have been rewarded with one of the most critical seats in our Federal Government. The increase in violent crimes in Phoenix is directly related to her failure to protect the border from drug lords, human traffickers, and invaders or various kinds.

How anyone feels safe with Janet Napolitano at the helm of Homeland Security in entirely beyond me.
