Royal Bengal Tiger is vanishing forever by-Mostafa Jamal poplu

It seems that the last shelter for royal bengal tiger is the sundarban of Bangladesh. For lack of protection the tiger is now is the most vulnerable position. The natural habit of the animal is changing for major five causes and they are coming out of jungle. For this change of habit on an average three tiger is kiled by the people every year. If this way goes the tiger population of the region will be in single digit with one or two years, the specialists think so. Sundarban is the largest and unique mangrove forest with 4264 square kilometers. The forest division of Bangladesh is responsible for look after the forest and they are partially responsible for the safety of the animal lives in the forest. Though other related department is playing specific role, the forest department is the guardian department for the Sundarbam. According to their source in 1963 world famous conservationist Guy Mountfort of England made a self and technical survey and give a opinion that there may be one hundred Royel bengal tiger left in the Sundarban that time. After that he started a work on this region to declare the area under natural conservation. In 1972 he led the campaign to save the Bengal Tiger, persuading Indira Gandhi to create nine tiger reserves in India, with eight others in Nepal and Bangladesh. After that 1975 a animal specialist Hendix made a report on his data that there may be three hundred tiger that time. According to wild animal protection department in 1963 there were 100 tiger . In 1980 wild life expart Pitnes says ther were 460 tiger in the sundarban. Survey report of the Forest department published in 1982 there were 453 tiger in the Sundarban of Bangladesh region. In the last survey report on 26th February' 2004 , the total tiger population is 440. All the reports are made or published depending on assumption. We don't know really how may of them (Tigers) are there in Sundarbnan and how are they? We are taking about Global worming and Climate change in the round table discussion and tv talk show for getting personal popularity and to be popular. But most of the so called resource person didn't visit or study Sundarban of its habitats. All they are saying are based in the theory. But the practical situation is different. The unique mangrove and its unique animals are suffering much than last 30 years said a 80 years old villagers of Uttor Bedkashi of Koyra,Khulna. If we look though the reporting and most recent events of this region we will see a devastating scenario. In 1999 a renowned daily of India The Daily Ananda Bazar published an article on the behavioral change of berngal tiger by Debdut Gosh. The resource parsons of the quoted article indicate Salinity and the rise of water level is mainly hampering the natural environment of Sundarban. In the Indian portion the salinity rise suddenly, so the Tiger of the portion dies and they are naturally trying to adept. They are migrated to the fresh water zone. For the rapid climate change the ecosystem of sunder is broke down. The specialist assumed the most of the tiger of the Indian portion has migrated to Bangladeshi portion. American Tiger Expert Mc Inter in a publication that major 5 cause are threatening the tiger population most. Firstly, for the rapid clime change hamper the natural food supply of the tiger. Secondly, the cannels of the Sundarban are silted. For this natural protection briar of the forest is destroyed and the tigers are easily coming to the villages and having the test o human flesh. Thirdly, human and pet animals are the easiest target for the aged tiger. Due to the shortage of natural flow of food the aged tiger are searching for easiest way for food, and they are randomly coming to the human populated zone. Fourthly, The raising of the salinity if driving them, Fifthly, for the dam care ness of the forest guard and other responsible department is giving the hunter hunt freely and frequently. For this the soundness of the Mangrove zone is destroying and the tiger population is getting scattered and forced to driven from their zone. They may come out from their habitats to take revenge. As the tiger are coming out from their natural habitats they are randomly killed by the people. A report of sudarban forest division indicated that at least 145 tiger is killed by the people from 1972 -2008. Chandpai Range of sundarban division is in the height position for killing to tiger. On an average the forest department get killing report of tiger from Khulna and satkhira region. The Director of WIFNI of India Dr. M.K. Ranajit says , we have to take necessary steps to protect the Royal Bengal Tiger. The threat to the animal is very shocking. If this way goes, with in the year 2010 they could be vanish forever or one or two would remain in the deep forest.
