Admissions of the Pak President

Islamabad : Pakistan | 4 months ago
Views: 28

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has admitted that terrorism was nurtured by the state to meet predetermined objectives or rather, in his words, to meet tactical objectives. He made the statement at a gathering of Pakistan civil servants in Islamabad. He said that those who are identified as terrorists today were heroes prior to 9/11 – or the day the Twin Towers was reduced to rubble. However, such things must not be allowed to continue otherwise the future generations would not excuse them. In his opinion, excessive power vested in one individual was not democracy – such power is never permanent, it lasts for a short time. For power to bring in benefits, it must be dispersed. He went on to add that Pakistan was a frontline state to fight terror and he would take steps necessary to wipe out the evil.
