I apologize for not blogging as much as used to. I have been very busy on the job hunt and with rehearsals eating up the rest of my time, I have neglected my blog and I am sorry about that. But, I had to blog after the events of this past weekend.
It was my first fourth of July in New York City and I decided I had to watch the fireworks. What a truly lovely and awe inspiring event. I was on 55th and 12th avenue with approximately 2 million people staring at the Hudson River's sky. There were 6 stations shooting off of 50,000 fireworks from the 20s all the way up to where i was in the 50s. I took some video on my phone while tears were streaming down my face. After all the trials and tribulations that i went through this year, i am in the greatest city in the world on the birthday of the country and watching a truly magical show. I am very lucky.
On Sunday I watched "Waiting for Godot" at Studio 54 and it was my first time watching it. I have worshipeped Bill Irwin since I was a senior in High School after watching him Off-broadway in a play. It was a great show that inspired me as a performer and it also made me think that is a great thing to do as a person. If we don't think we are a vegetable...and Estragon will eat us. Bad Joke unless you know Godot.
