Chinese Protest Turns Disaster

Urumqi : China | 4 months ago

In one of the worst Chinese protest disasters since Tienanmen Square in 1989, the current debacle in Urumqi, China is spreading across national news sites likewild fire. In the latest report coming out of China, at least 140 people are pronounced dead with another 800 Chinese being declared injured. The preliminary death toll is expected to rise significantly in the coming days after the violence sparked up over the weekend. Protesters became violent quickly when they attacked oncoming walkers, burned buses and blocking traffic all day Sunday.

Even the presence of police couldn't contain protesters as the bowled over the barricades. The protests are believed to be in response to the racial violence taking place in Southern China. It is also believed that protesters are upset about current unemployment at certain factories and businesses as well as a belief that the Chinese government is attempting to ethnically cleanse its people. I hope as do most that the Chinese government is not attempting to pull off a modern day Nazi regime by trying to pick and choose which people are considered adequate to be Chinese citizens.
