It is quite amazing the uproar that Sarah Palin’s resignation effective July 26th has caused across all party lines. Republicans & Conservatives were caught off-guard, Democrats & Liberals were rejoicing and Moderates as always, didn’t know what to make of the news. For one night, the State Run media, that is - ABC, CBS, NBC & CNN actually reported on a political story instead on spending countless hours on Michael Jackson’s death. I take that back. There was one Michael Jackson story that they did not report on. They failed to report on Jamie Foxx’s racial comments regarding the King of Pop where he said “We shared this black man with you”. So after all these years of Michael being cast aside, the Black Community lays claim to Michael the black man. No need to tell you, no one said a peep about this.

Another thing the State Run Media will not tell you is that Sarah Palin is a Superstar amongst her political allies and enemies. She is the one politician that the left fears the most and vilify unmercifully. No doubt that the skeptics will be out in force once again speculating about the timing of her resignation and her ability to handle pressure. There will be questions regarding her toughness and why now. Why announce your resignation on a July 4th weekend in the afternoon when no one will be watching? What is she hiding? Is there a bombshell sex story ready to leak out? It did not seem to matter that when a junior Senator from Illinois decided to run for President after only serving 2 of his 6 years of his Senate term. Why should it matter now? After all, Sarah Palin was actually working during her 2 years as Governor of Alaska as opposed to Mr Obama who voted present 90% of time instead of taking stances on tough issues. So spare me the double standard bullshit.

I am of the opinion that she will do a greater good to her party and this country by promoting her brand of politics in the lower 48 as opposed to being tucked away in Alaska somewhere. I believe that she will be a rallying force in the 2010 elections and will definitely help in putting many Conservatives and Republicans back in the running. For too long now, Conservatives have strayed away from their principles and fallen into the trap of trying to be too much like Democrats. And this is where I think that Sarah Palin will make her presence felt. She makes no bones about her beliefs and that resonates loudly with many conservatives that did not vote in 2008. Her message resonates with the anti-authoritarian voice in all of us. Although Alaskans may be disappointed, she has left the state better than when she took office. She took on corrupt pols in her own party and did the work of the people. This is the kind of person that I think this country sorely needs at this time in our history. She is a true patriot in every sense of the word unlike some that blame America every chance they get. Yet, the focus for the next news cycle will be to debase, criticize, chastise, belittle and ridicule Governor Palin.

These will be the same critics that failed to point out the John Edwards tryst and extra-marital affair while his wife suffers from terminal cancer. These will be the same critics that failed to expose every Congressman & woman who failed to read 2 of the most important pieces of legislation but yet voted for them anyway. They will not report on the reason why John Conyers changed his mind about having hearings on ACORN and their fraudulent practices. They will not investigate or report on why 90% of the GM & Chrysler dealerships ordered to close were owned by Republicans. But yet, not one single GM or Chrysler dealership owned by a Democrat or Obama supporter faced the same fate. They will not report on why the Obama administration fired an Inspector General that was investigating one of his supporters and close friends; ex-NBA star and now the Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson. They will not report on why the stimulus bill is not working, they will not report on the high unemployment rates or why Goldman Sachs is still giving out billions in bonuses to its employees. Nope, they will do none of that. They will use the Sarah Palin resignation to continue to cover for King Obama and his sprint towards Socialism. They will cloud your vision on Cap & Trade; they will blindfold you on Healthcare Reform and keep you in the dark for as long as there is another Sarah Palin story around the corner. But fear not, Sarah Palin will coming to a political rally near you. As much as the media will try to spin this as something that will all but cripple the Conservative movement in this country, they cannot disregard the power of the people. This country still leans Center Right and as it may turn out, Sarah Palin has just made herself the GOP frontrunner in 2012. She will not do it by deserting her party like Arlen Specter. She will not do it by morphing into some version of a Blue Dog Democrat. She will do it by failing to stand firm on principles and slugging it out in a manner that John McCain failed to do. She will not need the help of phonies like Colin Powell or any number of politicians impersonating a true conservative. She will do it with a message of Freedom & Liberty, Love of Country, Family Values and the can do attitude that has escaped America for too long now.

As far as I can see, Sarah Palin has never run from a fight in her life; I don't think she'd start now. Personally, I think your assessment is spot on; any Democrats who write her off are making a big mistake, but so be it.

firesisle,

I don't mind people disagreeing with her decision to resign, but I cannot put up with all the double standards from the left or the media. Where were the critics when Janet Napolitano traded in her Governorship for a Cabinet post as Secretary of Homeland Security?
Where were the critics when Kathleen Sebelius left her Governorship to join Obama's push for national Healthcare? For what ever reason, Sarah Palin poses a real threat to left and the media.
