Comments Related To: Purely Speculation: Pujols on Steroids?

St. Louis : MO : USA | 5 months ago
When watching ESPN last night, I saw a stat about Albert Pujols that boggled my mind and made me began to speculate. The stat was this: with the bases loaded this season, Pujols was 6-for-7...

Im a baseball fan in general but Dodger fan first. I personally wont speculate against anybody because its not right. That's why they test the players, so we don't have to speculate. It may take months or even years for a player to get caught but eventually Karma will get them...since baseball is a game built on stats...lets look at them, all the "great" players (Bonds,Canseco,Palmeiro,A-Roid,Man-Ram,Clemens,Giambi etc...etc...got caught, as will the players who continue to do it. Until then though, I'm going to watch the game and give them the benefit of doubt....without speculation.

I completely understand your view, and like I said, I'm just curious because as a baseball fan myself it's hard to not wonder. If you truly love and breath baseball, the idea of some of the game's greatest players doing steroids has to take an emotional toll on you, whether it be disappointment or something else. Don't you think not speculating and watching the games with a "giving them the benefit of the doubt" attitude is a bit naive in an era of steroids issues? (Granted, not everyone takes or has taken steroids, I'm sure there are players out there who are clean.) But were you not disappointed by Manny Ramirez's steroid allegations after what he did for the Dodgers last year? Heck, I was hurt by Manny's steroid allegations and I'm a Sox fan (even with what Manny did in Boston at the end of his run here). I love Pujols as much as the next person, but I find it hard to just watch the games and see a guy jack 30 homers before July without "just speculating."

I hear your point of view and understand it as well. Yes I was hurt when Manny tested positive...but Im over it. You know, after I posted a comment earlier on your article I got to thinking...after the Mitchel report in 2007, we learned of 89 players that had been juicing. (2 of my beloved Dodgers, Gangne, LoDuca) There are many more than 89 juicing...way more! So, with that said, I guess players left us with nothing else better to do than...speculate. Im with ya brotha

If it walks like a steroided duck, hits grand slams like a steroided duck,
it's a steroided duck. It's as obvious as Barry's bobble head.

Haha I'd like to think not, but I catch your drift.
