First, I will say that I believe Grassley has done many good things in the Senate. This, however, I would not put on that list. The entitlement attitude is running rampant in Washington DC and Chuck Grassley personifies that in this exchange.

I truly believe most politician have NO IDEA what the average American is dealing with in the realm of health insurance. They are so separated from those they represent they cannot believe there is a difference.

Perhaps it's time we change the Republican Senator in Congress...someone who has not been so far removed from the fray.

Coming from you, another of his Iowan constituents, that is a powerful comment, Alexandra. Like you, I also have had a great deal of respect for Grassley who has served as an Iowan senator throughout all my adult life. He has served Iowa well for many years. Perhaps too many. Your second paragraph said it very well. Thank you.

I just suggest that we REMEMBER this at election time. I truly am in support of term limits (and don't even get me started on the benefits our elected officials receive!!!)

Charles Grassley has served Iowa well-and long enough...

We actually do all work for the government. Our taxes are paying for the kind Senator's insurance; his arrogance and lack of compassion for his constituents will work against him in the end. Perhaps sooner.

People are literally in survival over health care, and it's not being taken very seriously by these people who are only concerned with their own power. It is time for more of us to speak out and be heard about this.

We have also arrived at the time to think differently about what "health" means. I don't think it's necessarily a positive to give everyone health insurance if all it means is that the drug companies get to drug more of us. I know I am repeating what many others have said, it is the system that is broken. The system is what we have all agreed to.

Correct: Grassley works for us! I love your comment. We can not these these sentiments often enough, in my opinion. Sincere thanks, kriscahill.

Term limits are a must - but health insurance is NOT the only issue in this country. Every day small business close doors in the trades industry due to the overwhelming demand on insurance costs. - AND not just healthcare...

I run a small business in the trades and we are beaing eaten alive in Massachusetts by Unions who are in bed with the governor. All that and a HUGE 15-17k annual workers comp premium alone with payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, general libaility etc... it's now virtually IMPOSIBLE to survive let alone feed you family and you cannot work without the insurances because without - no permit and that just leads to MORE problems.

Obama does not promote small business - he is throwing us to the lions. Fast and furiously while he lines Union pockets.

While a union-supporter, I empathize with the situation of the small business person and thank you for sharing your plight. Greed is a disease in our nation. From my perspective we need more focus on the common good. Political leaders are supposed to promote that, and unfortunately I fear that many of them instead promote their own re-election first and foremost.
