In my original article, "Sarah PalinSarah Palin: Why? No Choice", I said that we could stop all the guesswork about her sudden resignation. However, I now believe that guesswork is...
I thought she was going to help the elephant go into full meltdown. I guess that leaves the crazy religious right (Huckabee and Romney) to woo the irrational without a woman.
Sorry, but I totally disagree with you - she has resigned so she can accept the speaking engagements she is receiving. This is #1 about money and #2 about changing and refining her image for a run in 2012. Do I think it will work? Nope, but she is much more conniving than escaping - watch and see her try to pull off the impossible!
Can you provide a link to somewhere that says she'll face embezzlement charges? I'd like that as much as the next sane human, but I'd like to read it. Plus, I agree with alexandra, she's probably been offered alot of money to be a talk show host on Fox or something like that.
even if this is so i dont believe that this is the only reason for it there are a couple other situation which provocted her to do this something that she is not saying
Would someone please check and see if I am in the Twilight Zone? I agree with Alexndra and MrOrange - except I don't think she will run in 2012.
Resigning yesterday pretty much sealed her fate in that respect. In light of her pro-life (as radical right as Obama is left) stand - coupled with RESIGNING and not just declining to seak re-election, she'd not be able to win and the Republican party will come out with someone much more likely to win and who is more likeable as well.
Hello = Kasich is running from governor in Ohio. Coincidence? I think not!
I think Ms. Palin has had a taste of "national spotlight" power and I believe she will attempt to endear herself to the American public. Watch for her to "soften the edges" of her rhetoric and position herself for national office.
However, if she doesn't become more well-versed in the national and international events, she will sabotage herself all over again.

you just have to click on my name right? in case anyone wants to check out my blogs they are: Sarah Palin!?!,Micheal Jackson!?! I can't find anything about embezzlement charges - only 18 ethics violations. It is possible (since some of the ethics charges involve inproper use of state funds) that there could be further charges. If I am incorrect on the lack of embezzlement charges, please set me straight...
Since some who have commented have asked - my story said that Palin "will likely face embezzlement charges...". A number of sources including MSNBC (David Shuster & Andrea Mitchell), the Huffington Post and a number of other media outlets and countless bloggers indicate the high probability of such an action. Is this certain? No, it is not at this point. But it does appear likely...
Thanks to all of you for reading and thanks for your comments.
Palin has been ACCUSED of ethics violations...and in defense the State of Alaska has racked up mega $$$$ to defend the charges and she has personally had to shell out mega bucks and even got cited for starting a fund to pay for these DISMISSED charges. That too became an "ethics" violation.
Not one has stuck. All have been dismissed so far. When do people start to wonder if perhaps they JUST MIGHT BE frivilous???
She isn't stepping down for the "good" of anything. She has ulterior motives. However, this "quitting" isn't appreciated by most Alaskans... she is burning bridges throughout the country.
With our hopes for a better community-minded country, we have the potential to overcome this masculine-driven oppressiveness. I'm just a 23 year-old homosexual looking to support the idea of a female president. How we work together is disgusting, unless we are communicating with a sense of dignity, a reasonable sense of equality, and seeming kindness through our words. The people deserve peace and women are apt to discover more ways of self-empowerment, team leadership, as well as eye to eye justification of our liberated minds. So shall we mind our peace of mind soon. Power to the women of the world' equality for our children's future.
we dont nedd a female president to "show us the way" we as people just need to stand up to our own standards and stop begging these politicians to control our lifes. why can we not live in a society where everyone is equal in value and contribution for one another why must we have "leaders" as if they know what is best for us they live a life most will never see and as for palin i do believe she had alterier motives behind her "quitting" your right alexandraames it was not for the good or bad of anything she is looking out for herself, but what is she looking out for is the question that arises in my mind because she is CLEARLY uneasy about something!
FOLLOW THE D.A.W.G......

Palin is stepping down for her own motives and not really for embezzelment. Have you ever thought she just needed a break from life? Have you ever just got so tired you just didn't want to do it anymore? Maybe this is her issue now. She did great for Alaska and with all te family coverage and issues, she just might need a break.
I highly doubt that now the reason i say this is because she is so strong willed in her persuit of things and she is a "not the type to quite" kind of person. and if she was just tired of it i beleive, now this is just me, that if she was just tired of it and there was no rush or urgency for her to step down she would have waited until the end of her term and not the end of the month there is somethin there giving her a shove and its not a pleasent force!
Sarah Palin appears to be someone who follows her own drum. If this were the first time she resigned from a position with other motives in sight, that would be one thing. Quote from the Anchorage Daily News:
"After the 2002 election, Murkowski appointed her to the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, an obscure but powerful oil industry regulator. Within months, she had accused a fellow commissioner and Murkowski appointee, Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich, of doing party business on state time and state computers. She resigned the $122,000-a-year job when the state's Department of Law told her she couldn't talk aloud about her complaints. Ruedrich ended up paying a $12,000 fine."
After resigning and pushing this indictment, she immediate began a run for the position of governor. I truly believe she is doing this again - resigning to reach for something bigger.

Anyway, her resigning just shows she actually has a modicum of intelligence. Politics is a thankless and horrific job.
