MSNBC went on the air and clearly stated: “she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the State’s Public Safety Commissioner…”.
The Pro-Choice movement went on record over and over again announcing Palin was pro-life radical who would not even allow a raped woman to have an abortion.
Her family was vehemently attacked. From the left leaning media, to the Hollywood liberal “elite” to the unions, pro-choice organizations – and on. NO ONE took it easy on Sarah Palin.
Instead, they ripped her to shreds. Sarah Palin was held to an even higher standard than the current President and a much higher standard than any VP candidate in recent history. “Because she may be President,” was a common defense. If there were any validity to that statement– the same would have applied to that inexperienced Senator from Chicago as well.
People who knew absolutely nothing about Alaska, its politics, the politics of our Nation – or Sarah Palin – jumped on websites that blasted her and never took time to see that what they were actually witnessing was a witch hunt against a vibrant female politician.
This would have happened to Hillary too. It didn’t happen to Barack.
Women have a long way to go in politics in the United States because we are still fighting amongst our own sex.
I would say Sarah Palin was a mistake by the McCain camp.
America wasn’t ready for Sarah Palin because a woman who defends life over choice is a not a good representative of our morally lacking society. She should not have been pegged for VP – and it retrospect, I would gamble that if Sarah Palin could turn back the hands of time – she would have said NO.
Her views on everything were more scrutinized than the Obama’s were. He ran for President and won – and never did you hear MSNBC discussing the radical abortion votes of President Obama. I might venture to guess that there are not too many women out there in the United States (or the world for that matter) who would ever be able to allow a baby who survived an abortion attempt to sit in a cold room with no nurses, no doctor, no love, no chance – to just die alone. I would be in that room and hold that hand of that baby – until it died and found the path to God’s eternal world. Every last breath, I would hold that tiny hand. If I had reported for MSNBC - I would have asked Barack what HE would have done if he were in a hospital room next to that infant.
The people who attack Palin about the aerial wolf hunting and the euthanizing of orphaned pups after a wrongful shooting – do they advocate for the death of that baby? No. Would they allow that baby to die alone? Why is human life less important than any other animal? How can a pro-animal advocates BASH Palin as did Ashley Judd, repeatedly, claiming Palin never spoke for women's rights?
To denounce human life and advocate for an animals is clear hypocrisy. You can’t say it’s wrong to let a wolf pup die and in the next sentence say it is a woman's choice that the child should die. If you advocate one and not the other - your moral compass needs a definite realignment.
Obama’s stance on abortion is one of the most radical in all of the Democratic Party. He advocates that that mother’s choice to abort a late term fetus overrides the child’s rights – even if that child survived. Never, did (do) we hear MSNBC going into details on Obama’s radical view of fetal survival after late term abortions or do we read about it on liberal blogs like the Huffington Post. But, we DID read about how Arianna Huffington called Palin out for having tattooed lip liner. When Palin’s camp declined to comment on the absurd comment – they mentioned that too.
Where was MSNBC’s reporting on that absolutely crazy and completely irrelevant question about lip liner? No where – they were doing the same thing. Fair and balanced, my ass.
I did not learn enough about Sarah Palin during the election because the questions she was asked and the comments made about her – were just so off the wall – it went beyond witch hunt – to political execution.
Today Palin resigned – and I am quite certain we will hear multitudes of liberals shouting “yippee” from every roof top they can find. Another conservative bites the dust.
I am not so happy. I think it’s a reflection of our time – that Christianity and morality and above all women, are still frozen into the 50’s where all is fine as long as the doors are closed and the woman doesn’t tread to strongly on an opinion that effects women. Whether Sarah Palin disappears or not, women in the United States have proven that they have a lot of growing up to do. They were the leaders behind the condemnation of Sarah Palin and the unjust execution of her. As women, we owe it to our gender to be fair to each other.
Instead we jumped on the stoning band wagon. Lead by those who condemned her from day one for being pro-LIFE, she never stood a chance.
Today Sarah Palin stepped down from the Governor’s chair in Alaska. When speaking of every ethics violations brought against her she noted”
“... it hasn't been cheap - the State has wasted THOUSANDS of hours of YOUR time and shelled out some two million of YOUR dollars to respond to "opposition research" - that's money NOT going to fund teachers or troopers - or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the "politics of personal destruction" ... Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn't cost them a dime so they're not going to stop draining public resources - spending other peoples' money in their game.
It's pretty insane - my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with THIS instead of progressing our state now. I know I promised no more "politics as usual," but THIS isn't what anyone had in mind for ALASKA.
I guess she actually thought more about the people in Alaska and their future wallets, than our current President (that inexperienced Senator from Chicago) ever thinks of ours.
Good bye Sarah Palin – I hope you make the BIG BUCKS writing books and giving speeches… I think you’ve earned it!
