Manila, Philippines--The educators of the nation, are consistently taking part in the recent problem of the nation.

According to a radio report of dwIZ a teacher’s group showed their disdain over the "shifting back" to manual poll counting.

The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) and the Teacher’s Dignity Coalition (TDC) stated that they are aggravated about the withdrawal of the locally-based firm Total Information Management (TIM) in its partnership with Smartmatic.

"We are going to be very disappointed kung di matutuloy yung poll automation. However, we may not have a choice," said by a University of the Philippines Professor Antonio Tinio, also the ACT National Chair.

The UP Professor also said that they were all in favor of the full computerization of polls, to help other teachers who were manually counting the votes every election, in precincts, and canvassing centers.

Another Chairman, Benjo Basa also confided that they been all praying to have the elections automated every year.

"We look forward to the automation of elections in 2010. Dinadalangin namin yan bawat taon," he said.

[We have been praying about that every year]

Years ago, it was said that a public school teacher gets a P1,000 per day for three consecutive days, with a P300 pesos allowance, stated Basas. The educators buys their own food since, they are not allowed to receive any food donations from election parties.
