Manila, Philippines--Commissions on Election (COMELEC) pleaded to their critics to stop worsening their problem on the recent split up of the bid winner Barbados-based Smartmatic, and Total Information Management ( local partner),-- where the Comelec had been planning to pursue another bid.

Through a radio report of dwIZ, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez warned groups who were planning to file raps against them --in case the automation of the elections will not push through.

Instead he asked them for time, so that they could tweak the problem, and find a good solution to solve, and face the foreseen obstacle.

The Spokesman also admitted that they are not denying their responsibility on the computerization of polls, --and he also said that if the 2010 elections will be postponed, they are also not denouncing their fault since there was a law that allows the automation of the election,-- it’s just that it was always prolonged or hampered.
