Well this is not a surprising piece of data. Most teens engage in oral sex after they realise it is a real sexual option. In the heady first years (days, months, weeks w/e) of sexual discovery, teens often just go for it until they learn a thing or two. However the fact that one in four US teen girls is infected with an STD is a very surprising and disturbing statistic. It just shows that sex education needs to begin at home and people should educate their children about sex. Sex has also become so overrated by popular culture that it almost pressures teens into going for it before they have an idea of what it means. Proper education and citizens action towards less exploitation of sex as a vehicle for commercial sales would make a huge difference.

Sex education needs to begin in the home, let these children know these statistics of STDs and let the know it is not the "norm" for teens to be having sex.
