It's a big step forward for India to repeal an old and outdated law in favour of something more progressive and accepting of different people and their choice. As you so rightly say this is a normal part of our world now and is not something we can or should relegate to the underground.
It is a step that moves everyone forward culturally and socially and hopefully similar ideas of acceptance and tolerance will now spread. Again, this is a huge step forward for India and shows how far he society, particularly the legal system, has advanced. Very commendable.

i agree with you ... people have to accept that social values are chaging as are social norms ... even a decade ago, live-in relationships were totally no-no ... today movies, tv serials and even short stories dwell on the theme ...

i have to disagree, why can't people understand that there are reasons why this gay relationship is forbidden, we will drown in diseases and likes!! then what's next? just accepting human fate that we have brought upon us?

Certain religions define homosexuality as wrong but that is a matter of personal choice and morality. The bulk of these religious teachings is in any case about tolerance and homosexuals are not a threat to society, they are simply exercising a right to do as they please with their bodies. We have to accept that there are people who don't agree with a particular way of life and let it be at that. We will be better off in the long run because of it.

its interesting that India is taking huge leaps for this issue. I am not too shocked though. Its kinda their culture to be accepting of whatever their people feel is right for their own life.
