Marriage between Muslim boys and Hindu girls

MAK Pataudi married Sharmila Tagore, and the name of Shahrukh KhanShahrukh Khan’s wife is Gauri - they can get away with marrying Hindu girls but not the commoners. There are apprehensions in certain quarters that Muslim boys in Maharashtra are taking Hindu brides for sinister reasons. A couple of MLAs from the opposition parties have demanded for a thorough probe into the subject. The Home Minister of Maharashtra has given in to their demands and instructed the CID to investigate such marriages that are, reportedly, results of love affairs. Allegations are being leveled by the opposition that these are a conspiracy and intended to increase the population of Muslims. The CID is in a fix and would have to examine whether investigations of this nature fall within their purview.
