I can't imagine waking up in the morning and not being able to decide where I want to go or what I want to eat, or whether I can step outside my home. Modern slavery is as bad if not worse than before because now we have the means to stop it and the widespread idea that it is wrong. The idea of young children being forced into sexual slavery is disgusting. Those men should be forced to live one day of that life just to see.

this has it's own history and goes way back. but yes there is more awareness now and that should be put to some good. being exploited because of gender or need or poverty or weakness is sick.justice needs to be done and no human should be slave to anyone.

Yes, slavery is still an ongoing battle. Practically since the beginning of man there has been slaves. Man has always known that slavery is wrong, however, the greed, power, and amusement factors have outweighed the humanitarian issue. Slavery in some countries is also still allowed which is absolutely terriblem in modern day time.

In some historic societies men thought slavery was perfectly fine and good, but they didn't see it as an issue then. It was just the way things were. Now, in the modern age, having determined that slavery is wrong, having written a convention on human rights, having been through an age of reason and enlightenment colonialism and war, to still think that slavery is possible means there is something wrong with our common perception and attitudes towards changing it. Law enforcement needs to focus on this with dedicated individuals, corruption needs to be dealt with strongly, major players in the business need to be taken down (Which requires courageous law enforcement) and people need to pressure governments into doing this with more legislation and to address the root causes of gangs and poverty leading to gang membership to do this.
