Randy Sexton, Assistant General Manager for the Florida Panthers, announced today that the team has agreed to a one year contract with Defenceman Jordan Leoplold.
Leopold, who is 28, played 83 games last season with Colorado and Calgary. He notched seven goals and seventeen asissts with a combined total of a minus 15 with the two teams. He also earned 24 penalty minutes in 2008-09.
Although these stats aren't amazing, Leopold is a proven clutch player with his time in college, representing the US in the 2006 Olympic Games, and appearing the World Junior Championships twice, and will no doubt help a young mostly American team in south Florida.
