John Coleman, the founder of the Weather Channel, along with 30,000 scientists worldwide, are suing Al Gore for perpetrating the fraud of Global Warming.
The most inconvenient truth of all, based on a 2009 EPA Draft Report, which was apparently suppressed, is that global temperatures have been, and are currently going down! A link to the original paper is included at the bottom of this article.
During the period 1998 to present, the planet has been in a cooling phase, while the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere has gone up. A similar situation occured between 1940 and 1970, leading to the inescapable conclusion that global warming caused by CO2 doesn't exist.
Why then have our political leaders and mass media been pushing something which is so obviously flawed science? The answer, to me, appears pretty simple: profit and power.
Our political leaders, on both sides of the boat, love to present the citizens of this country with a monolithic evil, so they can walk in like John Wayne and save the day. That the crisis is a pure fabrication, based on junk science, or shoddy intelligence never seems to bother them. Democrats have done it with Social Security for years; GW Bush did it with national security; now Obama is doing it with global warming.
It's the same old tired dog and pony show, but Cap and Trade is potentially one of the most devestating scams that's ever been perpetrated on the American people. If utilitiy costs to the average US consumer go up even a fraction of what is being predicted, it will be a disaster; if they reach anything near worst case scenarios, it will be a disaster of truly global proportions.
Add that to the fact that about 300 pages were added to the bill the night before it was voted on and passed, which nobody who voted on the bill read, and I think people should be a little concerned. Are we going to support our Congressional representatives who continue to support unread legislation which affects everyone in the country?
Cap and Trade will do nothing to reduce "global warming". It will, however, almost certainly reduce the amount of money available to every family in the US for things like food, shelter, medical attention etc. by inflating their energy costs.
Is really the change you wanted??
