This is the first of two parts. Second Part here: Comparing the 'Idiot Heir' and the 'Wicked Heir' . http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/3575141-comparing-the-idiot-heir-and-the-wicked-heir...
Don't you agree that "The people get the government they deserve"? Bush may have had a lot of common with GMA, but do you think the Americans would have put up with FG, Abalos, Garci, Jocjoc, Palparan et al?
Problem in the Philippines is, majority of the elderly and the farmers have hardly any education at all because the highest class they have ever attended was 3 or 4 grade elementary. When it comes to the elections they wouldn't know who to vote for so the candidates give them an envelope of money and say, vote for me and show them their names. The one who gives them the biggest bribe becomes the winner. Philippine people only vote at elections because of the money they would get from the candidates. They don't care if the candidate is corrupt or not as long as they get their money for the next bottle of TANDUAY RUM and COKE. 14/7/2009.
I don't know if you got to read the first part, but that's actually my point--if I got your query right, that. The people DO get the government they deserve to a good extent. Exactly, the Americans would NOT have to put up with "FG, Abalos, Garci, Jocjoc, Palparan et al,"--because they (or they'll probably never do a most stupid, undemocratic and unpatriotic EDSA 2 coup. Precisely what I wrote.
Hi. Your observation is loudly belied by the electoral fraud of 2004, although it does apply to the local elections--and only to a certain extent. Remember that Gloria Arroyo is a BOGUS President--never truly elected to be the leader of the Philippines. An overwhelming majority of the people voted for Joseph Estrada in 1998, who was then demonized by the Arroyo camp and gullible civil society for a long time AFTER they grabbed power in 2001. Then Arroyo cheated Fernando Poe Jr. the "Hello Garci" way in 2004.
There are a small number of Filipinos who sell their votes at the local level, true, but the main problem of the Philippines is that evil politicians and greedy, unpatriotic elites have always conned the people and trampled upon their sacred, democratic rights to truly choose their leader who will espouse their interests.
I agre fully with you jesusa, that's what I'm trying to push she's done more bad than good for the country. While she pretends to do things to help the people she really does not, it's only to help herself. People do get the government they deserve as you say but the government doesn't deserve to be in office. She killed Fernando Po Junior, there's never been any doubt about it. She paid two hoods a thousand pesos each in small bills that Sunday morning to put arsenic in his food because he was going to challenge her in court for stealing his votes. The camera doesn't lie, it showed the Comelec staff switching ballot boxes from Fernando's bay and Brother Eddie's bay to Arroyo's bay which brings us back to Hello Garci, you must get me a million or more votes because I must win this election even if you must kill for it. 21/7/2009.
Right on, mllovric. Gloria Arroyo alias Arrobo is "jafake" wicked. She didn't do the power grab/cheating all alone, though She got help from another corrupt and Fake President, Fidel Ramos; Cardinal Sin and gullible bishops, priests and nuns; opportunist politicians, business interests including Lucio Tan, Lopez clan, Channel 7/media, and the seditious among the military generals.
