I just don't get it. I had great hopes when Obama was elected but the world does not seem to want to cooperate neither do the Republicans. The future really concerns me!

I'm sorry about your sons, that they have to be in a war. I can understand that you want them to come home so badly. It must be awful having them out there. Just try and get them back.

    Thanks Changez
You have to be proud but very concerned. It stinks but they are adults and you are their parent not their keeper. Driving around looking for IED's is not my idea of fun. My oldest thinks it's funny. He has been lucky so far though he has lost numerous friends. I don't worry about him too much. It is his youngest brother who is naive that really worries me. The one flying air support I don't worry about. I know it will never happen but I wish we would get out and live in peace.

Suicide bombers with car bombs attacked Kirkuk in Northern Iraq yesterday
while the American marines were leaving and handing power to the new army
of Iraq. Prime Minister said from Baghdad, we can handle them now because
the Americans are finally starting to pull out and we have more than enough fire power to keep the rebels under control. Any rebels found, they will be systematically shot dead unless they give up their arms and
fall down on their hands and knees with arms in the air. 2/7/2009.

jmsjoin, My bride of 30 years and I marched through the streets of San Francisco, along with hundreds of thousands of others, before the illegal invasion of Iraq, the day after, and a number of times since, while police snipers lined the rooftops above and helicopters circled round and round and round and round, seeming to have an endless supply of fuel. The idiot--a moniker that gives too much credit--ignored the voices of this country, then insultingly announced "Mission Accomplished" in his May 1, 2003 publicity debacle on the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln. But what has actually been accomplished? 4,321 U.S. soldiers and over 100,000 confirmed Iraqi civilian deaths and millions injured, plundering of Iraq's natural resources and historical treasures and poisoning that country with depleted uranium, the piracy of nearly $700 billion in U.S. taxpayer dollars, torture and murder and death and destruction and U.S. imperialism at its worst.

What are my sobering, personal thoughts? I reflect back on the last six years and I can only cry!

They say they can handle it but I don't know. Maybe with American air power and them being at their beckon and call. We will definitely now see just how much they want their Democracy!

I thank you and your wife. The treatment of anti war protesters under Bush sickened me. Everything about him. It really peeved me that he ignored all good advice to the contrary to attack Iraq to get back into the middle east. Just lie after lie and it is still going on.

jmsjoin, Thank you for the great work you do, not being bashful to expose the truth. Not sure if you noticed the images I uploaded of protests in San Francisco the day after the Iraq invasion. Being ignored and marginalized by Bush and the neocons was disgraceful enough, but it was especially insulting when the mainstream media mischaracterized the peaceful protests, exponentially underestimated the size of the crowds, and vilified the participants. I was there amongst the densely packed crowd that wound tightly through the streets for miles and miles. Pictures don't lie like Bush and the corporate slanting of news for sensationalism or political bend. Keep up the outstanding work!

At least Obama is trying, from what I can see over here. I think so at least, unless he's an even bigger and better liar than GW was.

I must have seen them but I will look again. A good friend of mine who writes here sometimes is quite gifted. Anyway he had similar anti war experiences in Indiana him and his kids also met Obama as he worked for the local campaign office. Thanks and take care!

I agree Obama is trying. Some things though as you can see will not change and has not like taking on the so called terrorists around the world.

Jimsjoin, with the news of a uranium being discovered on the moon, that is exactly the reason why it should not be mined. If some mad man gets it
all life on earth could be exterminated by using fire power from outer space. 3/7/2009.
