"Green House Gases"- Is its impact on the earth as green as it's name? It has been a while since the world nations framed strategies to control the emission of green house gases into our so called "green" atmosphere". And, at the same time, it has made me really ecstatic about the fact that "the top notch countries" are very serious in implementing the plans framed out to control the release of green house gases in the atmosphere. But, does my ecstacy stand for complacency...?
A few years ago, the Nobel Prize winner Mr. Al Gore predicted that the earth is heading towards danger as he foresaw the definitive global increase in temperature. Even though innumerable scientists in the world had already framed outstanding theories about the increase in temperature being directly commensurate to the amount of these gases in the atmosphere, it was Mr. Al Gore who played a commendable role to bring the topic into play.
Now, almost everybody knows that it's in the hands of the public to control the temperature rise by reducing the emission of these gases. But, are we really succesful in implementing these plans into our action? I would say "we are not". There are people still polluting the atmosphere with their own industrial and personal wastes.
And on the murkier side of the issue, another set of people have now started arousing the fact that the temperature rise would have least effects on the economic development of the nations as it would have been compensated by the improvement in scientific technologies by then. They comprehensively suggest that there would be a substantial increase in the production of "temperature resistant hybrid plants" to take care that agriculture is not affected. They also have come up with the notion that the human beings can adapt to the rise in temperature and gradually get used-to it.
Here, I would just intend to ask them a single question. The scientific technology can create wonders and it can create and invent new species of plants. We know that the scientists are deeply mourned by the fact that the global sea-level is on the rise. Ther are really bothered by the fact that the low-level areas through out the world will submerge if there is going to be another three to four feet of water rise which is predicted to happen in another ten decades or so. So, i would just put forth the question, "Is there anything science can do to rise the level of the land or prevent the sea from entering into the landscape?". If the water from the oceans are going to enter the land, the earth would undergo a complete metamorphosis for "Green Earth" to "Blue Earth"(aqua).
Even though i'm not pessimistic at this point of time, i really expect someone to give an optimistic solution to save this earth for the future generations. Long live our Earth!
