The crisis in Somalia

It has been reported that the U.S. government will be sending weapons to the Somalia's government, in order to fight off Somali fighters who took control over Somalia's populated area. The group claimed to be Al-shabab or "the youth" have gained a lot of attention for the past couple of months. The group is said to have been lead by a former Al-Qaida member. Violence has been very critical and there have been more than 250 civilians killed, 1,500 wounded since May 7th, 2009. The U.S. said on thursday that the weapons will be sent to stop this unpredictable masscre done this group. Citizens of Somalia have been crying for help ever since killings have started, dating back to as early as April of 2009. the group not only contains somali fighters, but also a few foreign fighters as well. The violence has left more than 160,000 civilians to flew away for the bloodshed that has occured.
