Iran Police Shooting Protesters 'Like Animals'

Twitter users believed to be in Tehran are painting a grim picture there, reporting beatings and gunfire on demonstrators supporting opposition presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi. These reports, obtained by Sky News, could not be independently confirmed by FOX News.

Police beat the protesters gathered on Baharestan Square with batons and fired tear gas canisters and rounds of ammunition into the air, the witnesses told The Associated Press. They said some demonstrators fought back while others fled to another Tehran plaza, Sepah Square, about a mile to the north.

Iran's supreme leader said Wednesday that the government would not yield to demonstrators who want a disputed presidential election annulled, effectively closing the door to compromise with the opposition.

Is any of this actually true? When you check out the Irani newspapers there's not a thing. I'm beginning to wonder, even though there is some convincing evidence that there is something going on.

They indeed are shooting protesters along with others like animals. The recent death of Neda still plays infront of my eyes. I regret seeing the live video of her death on the road. This madness should stop!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjBKHkoDgCM&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fhub...

There has to be a middle line somewhere between 'nothing going on' and 'all hell breaks loose'. Something is happening, but I don't think it's anything like what either side is saying.

The video that i've seen looks just like what happens here. Log pagal aur phir lathee charge, just a bit more stylish and hardcore because they're Irani. But they killed that chick and that's bad.
