Being an Afterthought By A.T.Myrie Excuse me? Have you Forgotten that I ‘m here? Waiting for your acknowledgment, Waiting for you to care About me and my life About my plans, my goals My sacrifice Do you think about me, really? Or am I just an afterthought You run by occasionally? Do you get the urge to see me daily? Or call me first, when you have a juicy story? I am not that important and that’s a fact I have to learn to accept my position in your life And be content with that Though I am a friend I am just one of the many few And though you are important to me I am not so much, important to you So call me when you remember I will not hold my breath Being an afterthought is easy… It’s the pain that’s harder to accept
