Who killed the newlywed?

The world was shocked at the murder of a newly married woman – the police have taken her husband into custody based on circumstantial evidence. It seems that shortly before her death, she and her husband were posting photographs of their wedding on the Facebook. But, did he really commit the crime? The husband was a graduate from Auckland University and was studying in the Cornell University. Their marriage was a happy affair and he now tells the police that he does not remember what exactly happened on that night. It all started when a patrol officer saw him moving towards a park late in the night – he was covered with blood. The cop gave chase and the man drove the car at breakneck speed and crashed into some bushes. On investigation, it was discovered that his apartment was on fire; a jogger discovered the body of his wife the following day – it was lying on the trail.
