livewire, This is a thoughtful and well articulated article that injects historical context with personal stories with actual news and insights into what is happening "on-the-ground" in Iran right now--politically and socially.
I have hungered to see more reports on Allvoices from the voices and streets of Iran--bring 'em on.
I have marched for peace in America with hundreds and thousands of other brothers and sisters--and our voices were squelched and facts misrepresented by the U.S. mainstream media--which didn't show coverage of the helicopters circling above for hours, or hundreds of riot police in full regalia lining the streets, or dozens of sharpshooters positioned up on buildings. I wish there were platforms like Allvoices before and after the U.S. invasion of Iraq where stories and pictures of my "on-the-ground" experiences could have been instantly broadcast to the world. That's powerful and I feel fortunate to have Allvoices now!
I invite all Iranian writers to share your stories on Allvoices. I love the global diversity I find here--a rich melting pot of perspectives and relevancy to my life. livewire, Thank you for your outstanding article!
