Road To Nowhere: North Korea

Wow, North Korea.

They launched missiles testing for their satellite space project. This was so obviously a cover for their long-range capabilities. Now, everyone is walking on eggshells as if they were sneaking up on a frightened cat. One wrong move can make all the difference in the world.

Currently, two journalists are serving twelve years to the wonderful North Korean world for their so-called illegal entry into the country. This silly trespassing indictment and subsequent sentencing didn't lead the two into a prison cell. No. It led them right into a labor camp, which is far more unpleasant than it sounds.

Unfortunately, the delicate issues with the N. Korean government leave us with a much larger problem. Two women that would love nothing more than to report news and go home at the end of the day are being forced to work while the American government tiptoes around them.

Why is the government being so soft? Well, it's because they don't want those nutty people over there to do something stupid. Do you remember when I likened N. Korea to a frightened cat? There's your answer.

The last thing we need are for them to freak out and have a reason to get itchy trigger fingers. All the while the poor women who are waiting for a swift rescue from the US government are the ones who are truly going to pay here.

It really frustrates me when politics get in the way of saving someone’s life.

The way I see it, we need to deal with the issues with N. Korea for sure. We also need to deal with the women and their situation over there. We need to deal with both, and we need Obama to be aggressive about it. Finally, we also need to lock Kim Jong Il in a labor camp and see if he enjoys breaking a sweat for several hours a day for some innocuous preternaturally fabricated indictment.
