Fox in box Obama mocks Look Sir, Look, Sir Mr. O, Sir Let’s do an interview With points and facts, Sir We promise, we promise No personal attacks, Sir! What the bejeezus is up with...
Now THAT'S some fancy Englishing, allknower! Has Bushy rubbed off on ye, or what?
But I'll let you slide, and retain your pride Your lack of beat, is endearingly sweet You claim you're "right" But you're probably left Which makes no matter With ALL subject to theft Keep up your quips and clever retorts You make the postings worth the reports!
How can ol' Barry expect to be taken seriously by Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, etc., when he is too much of a pussy (excuse my French) to go up against Hannity? Seriously! He is all for sitting down with people who want to kill us and our way of life, but is too chicken shit to talk to Hannity?
He can believe whatever he wants about Fox, but as you stated, a large percentage of his constituents watch Fox, and at the very least they'd have a bit of respect for him if he'd quit whining about Fox & Hannity and be a real man and take them on!
If you think they don't give you a fair shake, Barry, why not take them up on the umpteen offers to appear? Or are you afraid of real questions without a teleprompter to guide you through pre-screened & scripted "questions" that are really just preludes to your substance-lacking monologues.
Anyone else notice that he doesn't really answer questions, just force-fits them into his usual prepared remarks? He might be able to "speak", but he is unable to improvise on his own when thrust into unplanned situations (rogue questions, teleprompter mis-cues, etc.). He's ready to rush into face-to-face talks with those who would have us wiped off the planet, but he is terrified of Hannity. I'm sure if it meant getting him to appear, Hannity would be glad to have Colmes join for the night and hold Barry's little paw!
Do you have big lungs? You'll be holding your breath a LONG time before Obama braves Hannity! How 'bout that correspondents dinner last night? Real "yuck" fest or what?
I am a HUGE fan of fox. While I may not always agree with everything they have to say, they are the last of the media that is not afraid to speak their minds. America has become to much of a sissy as a whole. The whole politically correct and trying not to offend anyone by their beliefs and statements. So why shouldn't our Pres. be a giant wuss as well? If more people were not afraid to offend someone by standing up and speaking what they feel and believe we might not be in the situation we are now. This country is going downhill and has for a long time. It won't be too long before there is no middle class left. There will only be the rich and the poor. Why should my taxes go up to bail out an enormous amount of super rich businesses because they cannot manage their own money?
I have heard they (backbones) have been in a shortage lately...but they have been that way in politics for a LONG time! Seeing our media lose theirs is really heartbreaking. Seeing the American people losing theirs will be the end of the America we were given.
Hopefully the American people will learn a lesson from the brave youth of Iran and see what happens when Government is the ruling force in the lives of its people. If the people of Iran can pull this off, we Americans can all thank them for reminding us what our forefathers did for us and what WE need to stand up for each and every day! Thanks for the words of wake up MsMystro!
After seeing the mainstream media bend over for Obama, it's refreshing to see someone other than Fox call them out on it. I knew that Obama's butt buddies in the press would stick up for their messiah from day one. It's just sad that they are not only so obvious about it but that almost nobody seems to mind it. Thank you for being one to acknowledge it publicly!
Thanks for taking the time to read this piece. The good news is I'm not alone. I just heard that the television reviewer for the Baltimore Sun, a strongly liberal guy, came out and wrote about the fact that Fox is the ONLY media outlet questioning Obama. It pained him to say it but he made the compelling case that the rest of the television media is no longer doing their job. He said the "in house" news specials by NBC and soon to be ABC are beyond the pale. When someone like that starts taking note, I'm optimistic that reality will set in yet. Thanks for your comments!
Did I say that? That's not the point. Even liberal voices are coming out in defense of Fox's right to question the president and get answers. They may not be the questions you want to hear but that doesn't mean they should be ignored. No reason to fear questioning. That's what ALL of the press should be doing. They aren't. I've worked in networks AND on a newspaper. Believe me, the stuff that passes for journalism the last 12 months is an abomination and serves no one but those in power. Seems to be a trend everywhere these days!
Obviously the press is not doing it's job. If they did, they wouldn't have jobs. I don't think it's so much a matter of his wanting to go on there or not, the real question is, what difference will it make in a reporting environment that is stifled by business connections and in bed with political players who prevent any meaningful reportage being done in the first place.
There is no freedom of opinion in an environment where ordinary journalists are likely to get sued for barking up the wrong tree. Most tow the line spewing out what entrenched interests want to spread. Look at Fox and tell me this isn't true.
I'm not quite sure where these ordinary journalists are getting sued for "barking up the wrong tree?" I have friends in several news outlets and the picture you're painting is not one I experienced when I worked for ABC or in the print media or the one I know to be true through my friends at Fox currently. You may want to believe it so it fits your ideology but from my firsthand knowledge, you're off the reservation with that point.
The bottom line is that questions that are obvious are not being answered and if you think Obama isn't in bed with big business, and the most powerful political players you don't understand the incestuous family tree here in the U.S.A. that's root systems are entrenched around the globe. Have you examined what happened outside of Italy the other day? Japanese (they're still not sure of the actual nationality) businessmen were caught with over 300 BILLION of US Treasury bonds hidden in their luggage. That's enough to buy out the economies of 100 different countries! They were smuggling them into SWITZERLAND to dump into accounts and try to get their money out of the dollar which would have made the dollar plumment and interest rates go through the roof. This is a HUGE deal especially since Obama is depending on the Japanese and Chinese to buy up MORE of our debt to enable us to fund his healthcare (that turns out would only cover 1/3 of those now uncovered though cost over a TRILLION dollars easy). Luckily these Japanese? guys were caught and they were unable to dump the load. The part that is being unreported is the fact Obama is mortgaging our country the same way the people who took out home loans here that COULD NOT AFFORD them in the first place, causing the FIRST round of the financial crisis. With Obama's dealings with GE and it's funding through China and Japan, he is setting THE WORLD, not just us selfish Americans, up for a financial implosion of unthinkable proportions. Those are some business connections that are restricting meaningful reportage, you got that right, brother!!!!!
The fox is very clever, he sits behind a tree, as soon as he sees a rat, a rabbit or even a chicken he will spring and take it without mercy. 21/6/2009.
Law of the jungle at its natural finest. The web of life has a way of bringing balance in beautiful and sometimes not so beautiful ways. Speaking of which, a tragic yet hopefully beautiful scene will spring from the chaos in Old Persia. All of our thoughts and prayers should be with the brave and beautiful youth of Iran. They are vying for a legitimate existence that if accomplished will be authentic, profound and become the beacon for the world to look to as an example of REAL HOPE AND CHANGE!
Just stating the facts with no ideology. It's a simple equation; if the press/a news network is not allowed to say something because the owners of the press don't want it to be said, then it won't get said, and ordinary journalists have to tow the line on that or they might lose their jobs.
I think that's a fair enough statement that many here agree with. also a channel like fox has a definite conservative slant, often pro-republican, which is obvious, and news organisations in general aren't supposed to have a slant, as an ethical matter.
Talking about a this or that bias in the media means that everyone knows these simple things; the press is slanted and owned by corporations that have their own agendas. That is not a free press.
You have the right to a free press, but the press has no obligation, other than ethical, to remain objective or give the whole picture. That requires citizens doing what the press does on their own ie.finding out for yourself from sources outside the main press bodies, or even just foreign press associations.
Have you ever heard of an ombudsman? That person's job is to oversee the spin of every paper and always take the other side when a "straight news report" falls too far into an ideology.
Have you worked in American network news or in the print news? I have and have witnessed the workings of actual American newsrooms. Yes, papers have slants, they usually are upfront about this on their OP/EDS. Their straight news is SUPPOSE to be objective. Some papers and news stations do a decent job at this some, do not, true. And yes, the majority of the slant these days is in one direction but even the NYT has retracted and had its ombudsman put things back in a balanced light.
The press, until it is run by the government (which is happening with GE being taken over by the Fed)does have the obligation to make money to stay in existence. The people vote with their patronage or lack thereof which is the saga of American journalism since the more the press slants left, the less the public buys their papers and watch their newscasts. THAT is fact. The only papers and stations that are actually making money, increasing sponsors and readership/viewership are the ones that keep a semblance of balance on their op/eds and most importantly, their straight news sections and segments.
Your assesment of what is "conservative" only shows you don't KNOW what conservatism is. I do not consider myself a conservative but I know people who are and Fox does not reflect their mindset.
How long did you live here in America and where were you at the time? Did you travel much while you were here? Just curious where you're getting the authority on all these stances? You speak to me with such absolutes. Pretty impressive but my life experience doesn't back your views up enough for me to concede to your arguments. Fill me in so your perspectives make sense to me. I grew up in D.C. I've lived in New York, and L.A. I've experienced both the west coast and east coast liberal mindsets (which are very different) and living now in the south I know there is more in common with "liberals" in the midwest and "conservatives" in the southeast than they do with their counterparts in the big cities yet they call themselves different ideologies. So, you see Changez, a liberal in the midwest may well actually fall into your Pakistani definition of a hard care right-winger whereas a northeast conservative may well pass as a liberal when talking to you. It's not as cut and dry as you seem to portray it all as.
