Randy Johnson takes the ball against another AL West foe, the AL West leading Texas Rangers.
The Big Unit is coming off a stellar outing against the Oakland A's as he went 7 strong innings and gave up just 2 earned runs and picked up the win in the Giants 5-2 victory.
The Giants are coming off a horrendous series where they got swept by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at their own park. The Giants and Johnson look to change that against the Texas Rangers.
Giants ace Tim Lincecum (6-2) couldn't even stop the red-hot Angels as he did all he could to contain them in the Giants 4-3 loss. Lincecum went 8 innings but gave 3 of his 4 earned runs in the 8th inning that gave the Angels the 4-3 lead and the eventual game.
So the Big Unit looks to be the stopper and end the Giants three game losing streak. He will oppose Rangers pitcher Scott Feldman (5-1) tomorrow night at AT & T Park.
Friday Night's game will also mark the return of shortstop Omar Vizquel to his former team as he is a utilityman these days for the 1st place Texas Rangers. Vizquel is currently hitting .323 Avg. with 0HR and 7RBIs in 62AB's for the Rangers.
