Dramatic Clashes to release High School Students Hostages. Two kidnappers dead.

Combinations of Indonesian Police and Military personnel were successfully to release Acehnese high school student Jufrizal in Lhokseumawe city, North Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) province.

‘’We hunt the 17 hostages since May 26, 2009, and on Wednesday we found the hostages, but because the hostages against to shoot us, we attack the hostages, and two hostages were dead, one injured and we successfully to arrest other 14 kidnaper, and also success to release Jufrizal,’’ said Lhokseumawe Police Chief Zulkifly in Lhokseumawe, North Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province, Indonesia, today.

He said, the kidnappers try to get some ransom more than Rp 3 billion from Jufrizal family. ‘’The attack to the kidnaper two minutes after Jufrizal father Ahmad has already give a ransom Rp 100 million to the kidnaper. The clash broke, because some of the kidnapers bring some weapons to shoot the police and Indonesian military personal,’’ he added.

‘’The first negotiations, the kidnaper want a ransom Rp 3 billion. When I told the kidnapper that I do not have that money, they try to lower the value from Rp 500 million, then Rp300 million. In the end we agree to give them Rp 100 million,’’ said Ahmad.

‘’I give the Rp 100 million money in Medan – Aceh highway street, East Aceh. When I stop in Peureulak location, two people using a motorcycle coming closer to me, and then ask the ransom. Then, I give it the ransom, but two minutes later a combinations of Aceh police and military personnel attach the hostages,’’ Ahmad added.

    I see here that some of the hostages were in cahoots with the kidnappers
    by helping them fight. Those ones should be equally charged on the same
    charges as the kidnappers. 19/6/2009.
