There have been thirteen recored cases of the bubonic plague in Libya, most ending in treatment and recovery. There has only been one death so far, according to the BBC. The outbreak occurred in Tubruq, near the Egyptian border. Apparently there have been a few cases of the plague in Africa, Asia, and the US in recent years. Of course, the disease is relatively harmless when properly treated. The World Heath Organization (The WHO) have already sent a representative to assess the situation.

The Plague is a rodent disease and is transmitted to humans through rodent fleas. A foreign pest control firm has been sent to take care of the rodents to make the area safe for humans again. This is the same disease that killed an estimated 75 million people in the 1300's. But that was before we had WHO to keep an eye on us. Their next goal: swine flu.
