    Jefferey Dahlmer also started with small animals I believe. Many years ago there was a fairly nasty kid who had tied his new puppy to a limb on the beach at low tide..then watched the tide come in and drown the dog. A brutal thing for a child to do. My dog, Sly, almost sensed his "evil" and would raise his fur and growl when the kid came near. I sensed this kid had done something to my dog. The kis had come from a family with a troubled past...and that shadow followed him into manhood. He was always in trouble with the law and eventually was in and out of jail. I think the reflections in your article touch on some unpleasant truths of the dark side of Human Nature. Pets CAN become practice for future victimization.

    I'm not too sure that medical treatment can help someone that would do something so vicious, and especially one who would do something like this to such helpless creatures.

    It's just disturbing news. I'm not going to speculate on what legal consequences he should face, but one thing is certain: he needs help. Why couldn't he just play Grand Theft Auto or something? At least that way destruction would be confined in the virtual world.

    Very disturbing. I have a cat, wouldn't want to see him hurt in any way; he's like a part of the family. But I don't know if this kid is evil, or just had a very convoluted and twisted childhood. Evil is as evil does.

    i had a friend who used to get pleasure out of torturing insects where she would not just kill them but break a leg and then see them try to walk or fly and then keep torturing them until she has nothing left to do then she would throw them away!! and honestly she used to creep me out at times, just somethin evil about her :S i don't know if he did it for pleasure or he is angry real angry or just really really hates cats!! but sure is a creepy thing and something people would not want in their neighbour hood !!

    I wouldn't say that making frogs explode and then growing up to be president necessarily makes Bush innocent here. In a way, he has been a serial killer if you consider the wars he has started. He also killed my american dream for 8 long years.

    No, it does not "take one to know one"- are you in kindergarten, or what? Any person with half a brain and one iota of compassion can realize that A.,The majority of people on this planet do not spend their childhood/teen years torturing animals unless there is something desperately wrong with them. B.There is something wrong with that kid, and he needs help. C.Any moron that would read such a story and say "it takes one to know one", is obviously ignorant to the fact that anyone can realize, recognize evil, cruelty, abuse without being or enacting any of the above. I hope that kid gets help, and I hope he doesn't breed.......
