Sounds terrible. I'd like to try it myself sometime, though that dome looks dangerous.

Actually, come to think of it, looking at that peak you'd have to be nuts to try climb it; maybe if you're Ethan Hunt, or Godzilla. I think a helicopter to the top sounds preferable hmmm. I hope the dude is still alive.

That's just terrible. I'm sure the sight at the top of the dome is amazing, but it's probably not at all worth the risk, especially during a vicious storm.

Ah, but the view from atop places like that is worth it. My guess is that the storm came up quick and caught him off guard. It happens here all the time.

I have done some climbing at Yosemite, which is an incredibly lovely place. Not fit enough to try anything like Half Dome, though.

My guess is, if the guy had to die, that's probably what he wanted to be doing when he bought it.

The picture is absolutely stunning. But it is hard to take a bad picture of such a spectacular place!

As for the man falling, sad, but we all must die and I hope he was in a place he was happy to have as his last. I know I hope to be out in a place I love, under a sky God-created when I go, not tied to a hospital bed or in a room under a man-made roof.

Life is not worth living if you do not risk it. The most satisfaction and joy come from risking and finding what awaits you on the other side of the risk!
