Two people including one policeman have lost their precious lives, and twenty others including 16 policemen were injured in a remote control bomb attack on police bus carrying prisoners on Saturday morning in Kohat. According to spokesman of Kohat police, bus carrying 17 prisoners was heading from district Jail Kohat towards Kohat Courts, near Zero Point square on Indus Highway Kohat Bannu road was hit with remote control bomb planted at roadside, consequently police constable Muhammad Shah and a pedestrian Muhammad Alam resident of Zara Mela Jerma Kohat have lost their lives, while ASI Daud, ASI Samiullah, Head Constable Maeed ur Rehman, Head Constable Dilsose, HC Sada Khan, HC Mazhar Hussain, Constable Mubasir Hussain, Faqir Hussain, Wasil Hussain, Amir Najeeb, Mansoor, Ameer Nawaz, Asad Khan, Fahim Haider, Waseem Haider, Gulistan resident of Jerma, Muhammad Yaqoob resident of DIKhan Shahjehan resident of Khatak Colony Kohat and Muhammad Raheem were injured. Injured people were rushed towards KDA hospital Kohat.
Kohat Police Spokesman has said that DPO Dilawar Khan Banngash and high ranking officials of Pakistan Army including men of bomb disposal squad had rushed to the trouble spot, the area was cordoned off, DIG Kohat region Muhammad Idrees Khan Bangash, and DCO Siraj Ahmed had visited the injured in KDA hospital. Governor NWFP Muhammad Awais Ghani, Chief Minister NWFP Amir Haider Khan Hoti and IGP NWFP Malik Naveed Khan have announced compensation money for departed souls and injured people.
