    Randy Johnson is now 6-5 with a 4.89 E.R.A. in 2009.

Randy Johnson a.k.a the Big Unit isn't pitching like a 45 year old these days. With 300 victories under his belt, this future hall of famer doesn't want to sit at 300. So the Big Unit took the ball in game 2 of the Bay Bridge Series against the Oakland A's and he threw a gem.

Johnson threw 7 innings and gave up only 4 hits 2 earned runs and had 4 strikeouts and earned career win no. 301 in the Giants 5-2 victory over the A's. Johnson's record improved to 6-5 on the season and his E.R.A. lowered to 4.89.

Bengie Molina got the Giants offense going in the 1st inning by delivering a two-run homerun on a deep flyball to left center that carried out and gave the Giants a quick 2-0 lead against A's rookie southpaw Josh Outman.

However, the A's would muster two runs by a Jack Hannahan triple, an RBI single by Adam Kennedy to score Hannahan, and a solo shot by catcher Kurt Suzuki to tie the score at 2 apiece. However, with the score deadlocked at 2 in the 7th inning, Bengie Molina delivered a clutch double down the left field line to get the Giants going again. Fred Lewis came in for Molina as a pinch runner and Pablo Sandoval came up and then hit a Texas-Leaguer, a popup that landed between a colliding Bobby Crosby and Jack Cust for a single. That knocked Outman out of the game and in came reliever Michael Wuertz. Juan Uribe then delivered an RBI bloop single on the first pitch he saw and put the Giants up 3-2. Andres Torres then delivered a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Sandoval and Uribe to 2nd and 3rd and in scoring position. Emmanuel Burriss then came up and delivered a long drive to right center and it turned out to be a sacrifice fly RBI and bringing Pablo Sandoval in to put the Giants up 4-2. However, the Giants weren't done yet as pinch-hitter Nate Schierholtz, who came in hitting .333 as a pinch hitter, delivered an RBI single against lefty reliever Craig Breslow and gave the Giants a 5-2 lead. This also marked a chance to line up Randy Johnson for a win.

In came reliever Sergio Romo, who has emerged as the Giants 8th inning setup man and he threw a shutout inning and struck out Adam Kennedy looking on a sweeping slider.

Then came in closer Brian Wilson to seal the deal and he threw a shutout inning and picked up his 17th save of the season and gave the Giants a 5-2 victory.

All in all, it would a solid and gratifying victory for the Giants. Giants offense was highlighted by Bengie Molina (2 for 3 R, HR 2RBI's) and Pablo Sandoval (2-4, R).

I was at this game, it was great. I was so excited when Sandoval's blooper fell, the first baseman and right fielder fell over each other and it dropped in between. It's great to see Johnson getting run support (really it's great to see the Giants getting anyone run support).
