Well another anti-US propaganda trying to drag in the US in Iranian Election so that Ahmadinejad can claim the opposition is an extension of US gov and therefore the Iranian people should not trust them because they will sell out. Good try but the Obama administration is smart enough to stay away from commenting about the Iranian Election.

I think you should be more worried about the millions of Iranians who are not recognizing their own election and are taking the streets to protest.

I agree. We should be concerned about the claims of fraud in the Iranian election. But we should also be concerned about the fact that countless people have been and are being imprisoned and tortured in US-backed dictatorships in the Arab world. Two wrongs don't make a right. Telling the truth is not "anti-US propaganda."

Well..the Canadians don't like it and have spoken out. Then again..
what do you expect the US to say? They supported Saddam Hussien when
he was bombing the shit out of Iran..then, in turn went and bombed the
shit outa him! Politics makes "strange bedfellows" THAT IS for
certain! Um..didn't the US set up the Shah in Iran? Didn't the
Canadians help smuggle out a bunch of US diplomats during the Hostage Crisis in the Embassy there? Smoke & Mirrors & Bafflegab..that's all we ever get!

Don't they have a proper judiciary in Iran? Can't those people who are protesting about the results being a fraud approach the Supreme court there?

Jeez mate, the U.S Govt. still hasn't learnt how to be subtle about it! They cradled Talibans when they helped her in shredding USSR, but when the monster came to haunt her in sleep (9/11) they wanted them all to be droned-out! My cat whispers *wasn't it US itself that staged 9/11 to get the 'colorful liquid'* ... Shhhh cat, 'you want me to be kickedout from here?' ... Sorry mate, my cat's just a crazy old fart!

Now say, if someday the Israelis step on US' tale then would the US want to drone-out the Jews too? All of them, yeh? Would the US run to embrace Palestinians?

Why has US' values become so twisted? Do they want to open another front with Iran? Last time I heard, a very valuable lesson was learned from Vietnam. It were average Americans (notably soldiers) who pressed the Govt. to draw out forces from Vietnam; what happened to average Americans after that? The score is more than equal now; Afghanistan and Iraq, how many more will it take to jostle up conscience of the American spirit that we all sing 'to and with' every morning !?!

From what I know about the Iranian elections, Ahmadinejad is having the
protesters bashed up in the streets and the reformist party members are
being hunted down, kidnapped and forcibly jailed. Ahmadinejad is going down a similar road as Robert Mugabe. 15/6/2009.

whatever the outcome?... one thing is certain that Tehran is NOT Iran and that rural power has empowered Ahmadinejad once again in this fiercely contested election.
The power behind Ahmadinejad is the Supreme Leader Ayatullah Khamenei. The whole world including Washington knows that Iran's presidency is not the seat of executive power. The Supreme Council (unelected) holds veto power over the decisions of the elected government, and their Supreme Leader, currently Ayatullah Khamenei, must approve all political policies and make the key foreign policy and security decisions.
NO one can run for president without the approval of the clerics. The Iranian presidency is a managed democracy that the ruling clerics (Supreme Council) have managed quite successfully for the last three decades.

I got news for you citizenjournal, Ahmadinejad is not the government of
Iran yet and the rural sector has not empowered him. Iranian opposition has made a court appeal for a recount of the election results because Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has cheated. Question is, will there be another Tianamen Square massacre? Iran has been split by the election. Supreme Council is going to recount the votes to investigate the cheating claims and the result will be announced in ten days. Ahmadinejad postponed his trip to Russia because he is scared of being attacked and killed, he is not the president and will not be allowed to
govern without permission of the Supreme Council. If the supreme leader
finds him guilty he will be dealt with properly. Rafsanjani also made
a complaint on behalf of the opposition to the Supreme leader about the
cheating of Ahmadinejad. The international votes have not come in yet
so Ahmadinejad cannot declare himself as president and stay in office for another five years. People are marching through the streets peacefully to Liberation Square where they cannot be touched by police.
Four Reformist candidates have been put in prison but there are calls
for their release, and the Reformist Leader is still freee and calling
