Tonight was my first rehearsal for "Arsenic and Old Lace" it was simply a readthrough of the entire script. It went smashingly. And yes that was my first New York Rehearsal.

The bulk of this blog/newsarticle will be the play that I luckily experienced. Here's some background on my journey to "Next to Normal" or N2N as the kids are referring to it as:

I tried to do the general rush wednesday (6/3), a two show day, my mother was with me and we were number 60 in line. We didn't win obviously. I found out you have to wake up absurdly early to get rush seats. I tried again after the tonys on tuesday (6/9) i was number 21 in line the braclets were given out to the first 20. Promptly i went home and found a discount to get tickets and bought a great mezzanine seat. I get to the theatre and Alice Ripley (She won the Tony for the show). I get to the theatre and I see that she missed her first show and I exchanged my ticket for a refund (I saw Reasons to be Pretty that night). The Next day i went to the box office and got a ticket for that night. I saw it:

In a word Amazing. This show reminds me of Rent if it were about a family instead of bohemians and homosexuals. The music was beautiful and show was powerful. All i can tell you about the story is that its about a wife who is bipolar and her family is trying to help her. If you are near new york see it. It's great.
