Fire

Aylmer : Canada | 6 months ago
Views: 35

The once-majestic steeple that served as a local landmark for more than a hundred years in Aylmer came crashing to the ground as flames engulfed the building in an overnight blaze. St. Paul's Church, had 75 firefighters battling the blaze at it's peak, and required assistance from across the river in Ottawa. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Engineers will be visiting today to determine whether the remaining stone walls are structurally sound. This has been the second fire to hit this building. The first one was a lightning strike a year after it was built.
