Creativity is always critical in the fashion industry, and it's even more important under the current crisis. Vogue knows it, and that's why the prominent fashion magazine invited Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons to create the Magazine Alive Shop, which opened at the end of May in Comme des Garçons flex retail space in Aoyama, Tokyo, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Vogue Nippon. In the next 6 months, the content of each monthly issue of Vogue Nippon will have a real-time show in the space. The shop debuted the July concept - Manga*Mode, which features artist Takashi Murakami's limited edition based on the anime Magical Princess, as well as silver Chanel mannequin fantasy by Karl Lagerfeld. source:NYT/IHT

Wow...very interesting. Of course anime and manga are very popular and the images and cartoons can be very stylish and stylised. I'm a fan of a couple of old 80's anime's though some of my friends still swear by the newer ones. The Japanese are also a very style conscious people and dress very well, wherever I have seen them that is.
