Serbian and other foreigners among 11 killed in Pakistan by Militants

Peshawar: Eleven persons including foreigners were killed and 55 others were injured when militants blew a car bom in a five-star hotel here on Tuesday.

According to information, one of the dead foreigners was identified as a foreigner of Serbian nationality working for the UN Refugee agency, doing the rehabilitation work in the troubled country, on behalf of the UN.

Reports said four or five militants, apparently wearing uniform as security personnel drove into the compound of Pearl Continental Hotel and fired indiscriminately before blasting the bomb hidden in a vehicle, around 2030 hrs. The blasts which created a crater had also destroyed around 30 vehicles parked in the Hotel. .a mosque nearby was also damaged due to the explosion, police said. No group has so far identified itself for the attack.
