Not a good day for Lane Kiffin

The morning alarm clock goes off; Lane Kiffin rises. And manages to get embroiled in another college football scandal.

The fresh first year head football coach for the University of Tennessee was already getting into hot water his second day on the job, when Steve Spurrier, head coach at South Carolina, accused Kiffin of recruiting violations.

At that time, Kiffin had contacted a recruit by phone, who was wavering away from Tennessee and toward South Carolina. The controversy was whether the phone call took place before Kiffin had passed the NCAA certification to be able to truly represent himself as a coach for Tennessee.

So is it any surprise that he is being called out for another violation? This most recent one isn't necessarily all his to blame. ESPN has broadcasted a feature on this controversial coach, which included a segment of Kiffin meeting with recruits.

Penalty flag! It is a violation for the media to be present when a coach is meeting with recruits. The thing is, ESPN then questioned Kiffin regarding the violation that they had participated in.

The Vol fans can cry foul on this one. Meanwhile, the Tennessee football team seem to be starting from behind, even before their first game is played this season.
