Chase Bank may be new to oakland california not new to banking chase is finding they are very new to property management and landlording.

Mary Brown is a single mother of two. After moving into a two bedroom apartment she learned the property was forclosed on by the bank. A agent from Seville Properties had owned the building and borrowed on the inflated value for "improvements". Little work was done and soon the owner defaulted and the Chase Bank now was the landlord. There was a big water leak flooding the apartment constantly and Chase could only say fix it or hire someone and take it out of the rent. Chase then sent numerous parties to take pictures of the building and try to gain entry. Chase did not fix, maintain or provide any help and allowed water damage to go on for months thinking the other tennants and Ms. Brown would move out. Then one tenant hired a home inspector and a attorney. The bank then sent as there represetative Seville Properties agents. The bank hired the same company to take pictures and bully tenants that it just forclosed on. At this time Chase is under investigation by the City Attorney and District Attorney for violation of Oakland Housing law. Chase is new to Oakland Tennants and they are not easy prey. Mary Brown had her nieghbor fix the problem for free after a repairman made his estimate up wanting 1100 dollars up front, she bought a replacement part for less than ten dollars ending the siege of flloding that lasted over three months with out any help from Chase and Seville Properties who are now attempting to blame tennants for daily fines imposed by the City of Oakland due to landlord neglect of the building and property. The tennants are now doing the maintinance and property care while the bank and Seville Properties take pictures and do nothing a landlord is required to do. Next week we look inside a destroyed bank owned apartment and how Chase let it happen so units would be vacated by tenants for a easy sale and a fat insurance claim payed out to the bank.
