How cars get delivered in Afghanistan!

If until now, you haven’t figured out by looking at the image then let me help by describing what one can see in this amazing picture. There are cars stacked on the buses. Impressive! I have just made a very informative find, no? (My Eureka Moment) Hence, one traditional Afghani-style of getting your car delivered. No need for freight or the cargo planes, all you need is see if there is room for your car on top of a bus. Just stack em up and Voila, your car is all set to be delivered anywhere in Afghanistan!

Creativity knows no boundaries. I mean, just look at this image and think for a second, this cheap mode of car delivery would never have crossed our minds but these people in Kandhar knew just how to facilitate their people. A first look at these stacked cars wobbling over on the top of these big buses and one is like; this is so not the sight the owner of this car would want to witness. But then considering the notoriously bad roads in Afghanistan, I am sure the owners would only be extremely satisfied to see their prized possessions safely arriving the traditional way.

As they say, if you ever come across anything which can be extremely beneficial to many then you must share it. Next time, if you got a car that needs to be delivered somewhere and you don’t have enough cash in pocket or enough time to get into hassle of going through the cumbersome cargo carriers procedures, all you have to do is get hold of a bus, get your car on top of it, and get going!

P.S: An attempt to follow the recommendation is entirely based on your personal discretion! ;-)

Where there is a will there's a way. This just proves that under adverse circumstances people will find ways to survive and get the things they need. It also proves another very interesting point. That the people in this part of the world are highly creative and can come up with ingenious solutions with their limited resources. This is an efficient mode of transport. How good to see that life still goes on. Great article and image. Thanks for the perspective.

Thanks for a nice picture, it's the kind of thing that happens in the Philippines but not cars. You go to the city and one day as I walked out from the bank a Jeepney loaded with people and cargo drove by. I looked and on the roof rack with all the sacks of rice and heavy cargo there was a goat standing and some guy sitting with it holding a rope the animal was tied to. The goat was being delivered to somebody where it would be slaughtered and barbecued to be eaten at someone's birthday party with plenty of grog to go with it as well. 29/5/2009.
