In the summer of 1980 I was a foreign "observer" on Russian vessels
on the west coast of Canada for the "hake" fishery. Because of the
"invasion" of Afghanistan by the Russians many countries in the West
boycotted the Moscow Olympics...they also curtailed wheat sales to
Russia that year. Many of the young Russians on board the boat had
great difficulty understanding this and questioned why we Canadians
were selling them fish? I was put in the unusual position of explaining
how "business" in the West works. Out of sight; out of mind.

BC Packers & George Weston and Co. obviously can run "back deals" while
"front men" in Ottawa can play the Partiot's Game!
Four years later the Russians boycotted the LA Olympics in "Tit-for-Tat"....and who could blame them? History shows us how the tables can
be turned and how throwing stones in a world of Glass Houses only makes
work for Glaziers!
