Manila, Philippines---Two cases of confirmed A/h1n1 virus in RP, were getting better.

According to a radio interview of DWIZ with the Department of Health (DoH) National Epidemiology Center Chief Dr. Eric Tayag, " The common symptoms of the influenza virus was colds and fever. The 50 yr. old woman from Chicago happens to have those symptoms. Apparently, she was the second confirmed case of the dreaded virus in the country."

Tayag also advised the public to ‘self- quarantine’ themselves if they feel the symptoms ( cough and cold) of the A(H1N1)virus.

Through a separate interview of DWIZ, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Asst. General Manager for Security and Emergency Response Retired General Angel Atutubo confirmed that they have been strictly monitoring the entry of passengers from the countries with most cases of the influenza virus particularly USA and Mexico.

Atutubo was quoted as saying that ‘ right after the woman arrived from the country, there were no symptoms of the said influenza virus that were evident.’

"We will add 5 more thermal scanners, in case the virus gets worst in the country," added Atutubo.

i think their doing a good job keeping the virus in control and adding to their precaution measures.Maybe this way it will not be an epidemic and infected people can be detected at an early stage where they can receive treatment on time and recover.

There is no community level outbreak? Of course it could all start in the classroom by JUST ONE infected child.

The Department of Education must push back school opening by 15-30days.

No amount of bloody tears, screaming apologies, or public executions from criminal negligence/incompetence/stupidity will fix a disease that can spread from classroom to home to community to region.

School days can be made up for, lost lives cannot.

The wise parent will keep their child from school for 15days.
