Tori Stafford – Terrible Tragedy - A Girl’s Abduction –Follow-Up.

“Woodstock. Michael Rafferty lived with his mother in a sea of children. The clown colours of toys – jump ropes and bicycles, hockey nets and swing sets – brighten driveway after driveway, yard after yard around the home of the man accused of abducting and murdering eight-year-old Victoria, “Tori” Stafford. In the neighborhood on the east side of the city of 36,000, where the streets are named after romantic poets, the stark realization of the allegations came with sobs and gasps.

“My kids play right outside his house every day. All the kids do – and he’s probably watched every one of them,” said Lisa Cox, who lives across the road, as she broke into tears and covered her mouth with a shaking hand. Jennifer Burchat, who has a seven-year-old daughter and runs a daycare out of her home four doors down from Mr. Rafferty’s Tennyson Street home, echoed the thought many neighbors expressed: “MY GOD, IT COULD HAVE BEEN US.” End of Quote.

Yes, it could have been them, and unfortunately it also can be you. I hate to do this to you, but if you think I am trying to scare you here, YOU ARE RIGHT. I am.

Too many times we, as parents, fall into a sense of security and get oblivious to the surroundings that our kids are spending most of their waking time in. “Well it seems safe,” we might say. “People look so nice and loving,” we continue.

I am sad to say, and it is more than I care to believe, but the statistics show that to every one person caught as a result of a criminal activities involving children, there are twenty-five others uncaught or unreported of. So, please parents, be vigilant, wake-up from the lull that you are in and watch over your kids. God help us all and protect our precious children.

Tori - Rest In Peace Sweet Angel. You are now in the arms of Jesus and He is taking care of you. God bless you.
