    Embraced Shahadat on 21 May,2009 in Dir District

They are Pakistan's heroes who have sacrificed their lives for the country. The whole Pakistani nation owes them so much. It is because of their sacrifices that we are able to live freely in our country while they do this for protecting the citizens of Pakistan."I am going to embrace Shahadat".These were the last words of Captain Najam Riaz ( shown here in video) to his parents when he left for Swat. And he did prove to be a man of his words. He embraced shahadat along with three other commandos last Teusday. He was captured by the terrorists under mysterious circumstances on 21 April while he along with his three other companions were out of their camp in Swat Valley. The Commissioner Malakand, Muhammad Javed even visited them in captivity but didnt do anything about it as he was clearly sympethetic towards these terrorists. Last Tuesday, eight terrorists entered the room where these four commandos had been kept. The terrorists had with them, a rope, a video camera and some swords. The commandos knew what was coming. Even though they were unarmed, in a matter of seconds, the four commandos jumped at the terrorists and within seconds, broke the necks of all eight of them. That was when two more of these terrorists entered the room and sprayed these men with bullets reulsting in the martrydom of Captain Najam Riaz, Captain Junaid Khan and two other soldiers. This video also shows Captain Bilal Zafar Shaheed (SSG) ,Maj Abid Shaheed, Major Azhar Shaheed, Leiutenant Saifullah Shaheed and Leuitenant Zia Shaheed. All these men embraced Shahadat during the ongoing operation Rah-e-Rast (the right path) in Swat Valley.I am attaching pictures of Captain Omer Zeb Saheed who embraced Shahadat today in Dir District and also of Captain Junaid Khan Shaheed.And some of our politicians say that they dont support the military operation. Who gives them the moral authority to decide. Are our corrupt politicians even near these brave and valiant soldiers. Let Imran Khan see this, let Qazi Hussain see this and let these terrorists see this and know that as long as such brave men are around, noone can dare threaten Pakistan.

    Dear All;

    No matter what our perspectives are about any issue, these men of honor deserve our utmost respect.

    'Blow out, you bugles, over the rich dead!
    There's none of these so lonely and poor of old,
    But, dying has made us rarer gifts than gold.

    These laid the world away; poured out the red
    Sweet wine of youth; gave up the years to be
    Of work and joy, and that unhoped serene
    That men call age; and those who would have been,
    Their sons, they gave their immortality.

    Blow, bugles, blow! They brought us, for our dearth,
    Holiness, lacked so long, and Love, and Pain.
    Honor has come back, as a king, to earth
    And paid his subjects with a royal wage;
    And nobleness walks in our ways again;
    And we have come into our heritage.’

    My thoughts are with the loved ones of these men of honor.

    Hamid Hussain

    The brother of Maj Abid Shaheed is Major Khalid who has also been injured in the Swat Operation and recieved a bullet in his left arm. And the brother of Capt Bilal Zafar Shaheed is Capt Zarrar Zafar, who also happens to be a commando in the Special Services Group just like his martyred brother. Their mother said that she'll sacrifice her second son also if she has to and she'd be even more proud. What fortitude and determination! Its truly inspiring. With mothers like this, who can say Pakistan can disintegrate or anyone can capture it. This is the last message Captain Bilal Zafar Shaheed sent to a friend of his before embracing Shahadat at 0500 am on 17 May :

    “In the vollies of bullets, in the thunder of bombs, there are a few who just do not stop, knowing that they are surrounded by death, knowing that they could leave their wives widows and children orphans, but they just keep on moving because something is pumping in their hearts, and flowing through their veins known as honor, devotion, motivation. Death over surrender. This is why they say ‘Death before disgrace’. Pak Army Zindabad.”

    THE SOIL OF PAKISTAN (ESPECIALLY THE SOIL OF SWAT) OWES THE BLOOD OF OUR VALIANT SOLDIERS. WE ARE ALL PROUD OF OUR HEROIC SOLDIER. ONE CAN IMAGINE THE LEVEL OF MOTIVATION OF THESE SOLDIERS , THAT AT AVERAGE THEY ARE PAID RS.8000-RS.9000 , AND EVEN THEN THEY ARE MUSTERED UP TO KILL THE FRUSTRATED SO-CALLED talibans. THIS IS ONLY THIER STALWART DRIVE OF RELIGION THAT THEY ARE STEADFAST AGAINST THE ENEMIES. WE ALL SALUTE TO THE MARTYRED SOLDIERS AND OFFICERS.PAKISTAN SHOULD NOT FORGET BLOOD OF CAPTAIN NAJAM RIAZ SHAHEED (SSG), CAPTAIN JUNAID KHAN SHAHEED(SSG) AND TWO OTHER SOLDIERS SHAHEED(SSG), CAPTAIN BILAL ZAFAR SHAHEED (SSG) ,MAJ ABID SHAHEED, MAJOR AZHAR SHAHEED, LEIUTENANT SAIFULLAH SHAHEED AND LEUITENANT ZIA SHAHEED AND CAPTAIN OMER ZEB. THEY ARE NOT DEAD. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD - PAKISTAN ARMY PAAINDABAD.

    AND ONE MORE THING....... THE SO-CALLED talibans ARE NOT THOSE REAL TALIBANS OF AFGHANISTAN. THEY ARE SIKHS IMPLANTED BY INDIA AND INDIA TRAINED THEM FOR 15 YEARS TO LEARN THE CULTURE , DIALECT OF PATHANS IN ORDER TO COMMAND THE INNOCENT ONES. BE VERY CLEAR ABOUT THEM. SO-CALLED talibans ARE MERCENERIES , KAAFIRS. HATE THEM AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET THE ARMED FORCES IN YOUR PRAYERS. THIS ARMY HAS DONE A LOT FOR US BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY ALWAYS REMAINED AS UNSUNG HEROES.

    dear mzohair, it is a sad news indeed and my heart goes out to the family members of those who laid their lives for this motherland. May God Almighty gives the strength to the family members!

    I just want to ask you a couple of questions as for the last week or so I have seen many news reports emanating from Pakistan like this one: Pakistani Military Touts Captured Taliban Tent-General Claims Hundreds Killed 'Liberating' Tent, No Bodies Found (http://news.antiwar.com/2009/05/22/pakistan-touts-captured-taliban-tent/)
    or

    please go through this one:Despite Offensive, Insurgents Remain a Presence in Major Swat Towns
    Militants Blend In With Populace, Retain Hold on Key Regions (http://news.antiwar.com/2009/05/22/despite-offensive-insurgents-remain...)

    I can quote a couple of other reports too but let me be short and ask you whether there is any truth in these reports or do you think that this time around Pakistani military is determined to crush these militants?

    There is another news in the "The News, Pakistan, 23rd May 2009" titled "Taliban foiling Pakistan offensive. My impression is that if Not properly handled, the military action in the Malakand division and the huge displacement that it has caused would have far greater consequences than Lal Masjid or previous army operations.

    The issue could have been better handled and politically resolved.

    Captain Omer Zeb and i were room mates during our first term in Pakistan Military Academy, and i left Academy in third term, we kept meeting after that sometime but in general we lost touch, and than i came to know about this !!! i'd like to post a note which i wrote about this MAN....

    After i crossed the parking lot of PMA , i walked in with a senior who kep on swearing at me, into the line so i can get my company lines and room assigned, in the line i met an old college friend who also was selected, behind me was a GUY, who introduced his self to me as Omer Zeb, and said he was from Rawalpindi and we shared few introductory things, he said me maybe we will get the same Company, and we had a big laugh like yeah out of 300 people how that'd be possible , but maybe that was the moment of acceptance, we got the same Company and SAME ROOM as well, yeah it may sound a bit too pompous but yeah that is exactly what happened, we went to room, he was such a sweet guy, we shared everything from our personal lives to all that ragging we use to get in Academy and passed on some great times all together, he was a very handsome young man, and when we went on holidays we spent some beautiful times together, like this we spent our years, and went off to our different professional lives, i was always a FUNG... a typical army term used for those who tend to be an ass hole for daily army routine life, he always use to guide me through the process and things, make me understand, even when i left the league he was the one who kept pushing me to get into civil life and do the best out of it, like friends we trusted each other also, what he use to say me meant alot to me, and what i use to say him, we shared a great sense of friendship all together, in a while he got posted to the most f***** up place on ma mother land , and we LOST TOUCH..... and yesterday i got a news that he DIED in urdu he embraced SHADAT in NWFP while their car was blown by a bomb.......life is uncertain thats what i knew always...but its unfair thats what i am starting to understand now....in a row this is my 3rd course mate who embraced SHAHADAT...but he was for sure the most dearest one.....my friend i will never forget you and i will never forget the memories we had...may God give your family peace and courage to overcome this loss.... may you rest in peace atlast after all you have been through.... and i will meet you again in this life or the next....... AMEEN

    first and foremost, my sincerest condolences to majdy and mustajab on captain omer zeb's shahadat..i never knew him but once i looked at his picture, i dont know, i felt this feeling of bravery and kindness around that man... we owe so much to these brave men.. they did this for us and to protect our way of life..no words can express my gratitude to them..im abt to go into university but when i look at these people, i always get second thoughts..and i suppose whenever i see a shaheed, i have seen that they were great men..and maybe thats why god elevates them to such a high status..my gratitude to majdy for her brother in laws shahadat.. @ citizenjournal...about the first report, it is policy of the Pakistan Army not to show any dead terrorist as their bodies are mostly mutiliated and second, if the army starts showing their bodies, what difference would that leave between one of the best institutions in the world and the worst barabarians on earth..so they dont show the dead bodies as a policy..about the determination of the army, i think the stories of these great men would tell you about the determination..the army has dropped 1121 Commandos of the Special Services Group to Peocher while more that 40000 troops (3 divisions) are taking part in the operation..its said a 'tent being captured'..In buner, the army has cleared the area from Ambela upto Sultanwas..In swat, they have cleared Matta,Khawazakhela, Kanju, Pir Baba, Ayub Bridge and have now entered Mingora..street to street fight continues..Gen Athar Abbas told newsmen they have destroyed six pickups bearing signs of Police 'Elite Force' and in them, dozens of men were killed wearing police uniforms..these men were the 'Shaheen Commandos' of that criminal 'Fazlullah' and he used to be so fond of them..they were the ones who had actually taken over Swat in end 2006..they can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGYEkgsXbhc all of them have been killed..so id say the army will eliminate them in the next few weeks..commander abu tariq and ibne amin have been killed while im sure ull be hearing of fazlullah,muslim,dauran and ibne aqeel getting killed soon..and if sumeone has their doubts, just look at the face of captain omer zeb shaheed..ull know wut these barbarians are up against..i know ill be posting 'Army declares Victory' in a few weeks time and also Fazlullah Killed..i just know it

    its good to know that all you have felt the loss of this man of honour, but i have just one thing which i dont want to accept ever....HE IS NO MORE... these 4 words are the worst nightmare i can ever have...everytime i close my eyes...i remember every second of time we spent together...the time every cadet never forgets in his whole life...first 6 months of P.M.A....... ragging...stealing food...eating it hiding from seniors in the balcony...i was a smoker so he used to borrow smoke for me from washer man...and every possible person he could....i can not forget those days...last time we went to jinnah super together... in pizza hut the meeting we had for 2 hours...the words he said to me...the things he shared....how can i forget all those things...how can i not see the pictures of first term soaked in mud and shit and still having fun...how can i forget the times i use to play tabla on a table and he use to sing IK BAR KAHO TUM MERI HO...how can i forget those telephone booths from where we use to call....and look over eachother that some senior isnt around.......how can i forget his last phone call to me when i left country....and there are so many of these....now there are reasons...now there are operations and policies and martyrdom and what not...but a simple thing which is impossible to digest is WHY.....why him.....just why...maybe its not part of my faith to say but i am angry on GOD...and will be...till i dont get answer of my friend losing his life........WHY !!! GOD WHY !!

    Capt Omer Zeb (Sunny) is a family relative. I cant find words about his passion towards Army and country. He was indeed a brave man and most of all Allah chose him for this medal (Shahadat). I still remember when he was too young and i never knew how great this boy is at that time when his father was posted in Murree. later he got older and he joined army and i remember him saying to his cousin's regarding his will for shahadat. He proved his words and will. But my tears cant stop over his stolen youth.

    But i see our freedom, fun, life, in our country is because of the janbaaz soldiers like him. He is our real "HERO" I salute you..

    I heard "shaheed kabhi marta naheen" and thats true.. because i attended his funeral and the amount of blood rolling down his coufin is an example. I must say here that " Sunny tera khoon zaya naheen jaye ga" SWAT phir abaad hoga aur tera naam hamesha ke liye amar rahe ga...

    You will always be in our heart.

    Ae rah e haq ke shaheedo, wafa ke tasweero.

    Lst night I watched a TV program on this young shaheed, his family was interviewed by Dunyaa News. i saw his father,he is really very brave in that interview. He said" I m really very proud on my son, he sacrified his life on our country",

    He also appealed to the corrupt politicians to stop criticising Pak military on this military operation. There politicians are criticising this ongoing military operation just to gain their political benefits out of it, they must feel shame, our young army persons are sacrificing their precious lives for the survival of our country and these a****** politicans are exploring their benefits at this crucial time.

    O ALLAH ALMIGHTY, please show the right path to the TALIBANS or plz destro them. They are not muslims at all, infact being muslim is a special status these stupid, ignorant, dirty talibans are not human beings. They are really giving a bad name to Islam.

    Anyhow, my condolences are with the family of this young shaheed, especially to his parents.
    May allah bestoy a special place in heaven to all shaheeds of Pak Army and give patience to the families of these martyrs.

    We really proud on u Captian Umer Zeb, u will be alive always Inshallah as Shaheed never dies.

    Our heroes
    Monday, June 08, 2009

    This morning as I opened my emails, I came to know that a young SSG officer of the Pakistan army, Capt Bilal Zafar, had embraced shahadat in Lower Dir on May 17. Some caring soul had opened a website in his honour (www.captainbilalshaheed.com) and it has a lovely picture of Capt Zafar in uniform with the badges of a UN peacekeeper. For many minutes I sat riveted staring at his face, at his eyes and his smile, and trying to look into his soul to find from where a young man of 25 years of age finds the courage and motivation to give such a sacrifice. And Capt Bilal was not alone. I opened YouTube and more names of Shaheeds appeared: Capt Asim Iqbal, Capt Najam Riaz, Maj Adil, Capt Salman Farooq, Capt Abid Majeed and Lt Atif. God be praised.

    Throughout the day I kept returning to the picture of Capt Bilal and each time it took me back in time 38 years to the 1971 Pakistan-India war when my friend and comrade Capt Hassan Zaheer SJ embraced shahadat in Chammb (now Iftikharabad) fighting for his country, for the army and for his regiment, the 26 Cavalry. Like Capt Bilal, Hassan also had a strong premonition that death was stalking him and embraced it willingly. “Ali, my friend,” he wrote, “this is the last letter I am writing to you”. Like Capt Bilal, my friend Zaheer too was a hero in another time and another place.

    By the time evening came I had a strong urge to honor this young brave man for making us proud. I wish I could write a whole book about him but I didn’t know him nor his friends or his family. What I do know (and I saw it very closely 38 years ago in Hassan Zaheer) is that to be a hero one must have purity of soul and this is the result of a good upbringing and family values. Equally important is inner strength and this is a product of training, espirit de corps, faith, self respect, honour and dignity. That is why the armed forces of Pakistan have been able to give the nations its heroes throughout our history from the Kashmir Operations of 1948-49, the wars of 1965 and 1971, Siachen, Kashmir, Kargil and now the operations against the militants. For those who profess that the Pakistan army has changed over the years, I say “yes”; change is inevitable but the army still retains its core values and competencies. The army still knows how to fight, to adapt to different forms of warfare, to plan and successfully execute complex operations, to defeat the enemy at their own game, to lead soldiers into combat, and to sacrifice their today so that the nation can have its tomorrow. Its officers still lead from the front and the ratio of casualties of officers compared to the soldiers has and as proved recently continues to be high.

    I never had the pleasure of meeting Capt Zafar but standing on the roof of my house in Islamabad I can see the pretty valley ten kilometers away which nestles his village of Karor overlooking Simly Dam. Next week I will go and pay respects at his grave, pray for his soul and thank the Almighty, the Pakistan army, his parents and family and not the least Capt Bilal Zafar for having given the nation another hero. In these difficult times we need them badly. God bless Pakistan.

    Proud of you and the blood you have in you. I'm proud that I belong to a country which nurture sons like you. May Allah give you the place among the followers of Imam Hussain and may Allah put every taliban in the deepest cores of HELL.
