A horrible sight that witnesses described as a ‘scene from an Alfred Hitchcock film,’ thousands of bees invaded a French art gallery descending out of the blue on dozen tourists, most of them British. The worst case was of a 20 year old English woman who was stung more than 500 times all over her body.
The horrible incident happened in Moulidars near Cognac in the Charente region on Saturday afternoon. The visitors completely caught off guard ran out of the building and towards their cars to get away from the swarm of bees but many even got injured inside their cars as the bees managed to get through even from slightly opened rear windows.
Three visitors were taken to hospital after the drama while many were treated on the scene. The English woman was badly injured and things got even worse with her when she fell into a panic attack and had to be sedated to calm her down.
The loft was immediately shut down and furious efforts were made to destroy the swarm of bees, also the injured victims were not named. The greatest fear among the emergency services was that someone might have an allergic reaction and could become seriously ill. But according to latest update, all victims are recovering well.
The source of the bee attack is still unknown but I feel for those injured and stung badly in a state of complete unawareness. I remember being stung once in my childhood and that was more terrifying an experience for me than painful. I hope all the injured tourists get well soon.
