Daytime Emmy Award Nominations Announced

The Daytime Emmy Awards mirrors its prim time counterpart by honouring the best television has to offer in daytime programming. For many years the big news was would “All My Children” star Susan LucciSusan Lucci finally win her Daytime Emmy; after 20 years she did. This year Lucci is not even among the nominees. This year’s news is that the non commercial PBS leads the nominations with 56.

For 40 years PBS and the Children’s Television Workshop have been entertaining and teaching toddlers and preschoolers how to count, the alphabet, and numerous other skills and tasks using a number of fun loving Muppets. And now the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences are honouring Sesame Street with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year nominations from internet programming is also included in the nominations.

Former Miss American Vanessa WilliamsVanessa Williams will host the Daytime Emmy Award show which will be broadcast in prime time on the CW Network August 30.
