An announcement appeared in the local Phoenix, Arizona newspapers that announced that although the FBI has significantly increased the number of agents since 9/11, they are now on a push to hire more under monies gained from the stimulus. It appears that since now over 3/4's the citizens are on the "watch list," the number of agents isn't equal to the task.

As one of those identified potential terrorists on the list as a 45 year former resident of Arizona and three time victim of illegal immigrant crimes, who has been actively involved in addressing through the state and federal levels the open borders situation still existing now seven years post 9/11 with decades of border state resident victims preceding even that tragedy at the hands of foreigners, I wrote another "Letter To The Editor" and plan on sending a copy to the local Phoenix FBI office, and state and federal officials:

"It definitely seems that 9/11 has been the greatest "economic stimulus" for increasing government and the surveillance industries ever - not to mention the military budgets.

It does seem that the only real new jobs being created are in the surveillance and gadget industries. And spying on Americans and those dreaded right wing extremists.

I do wonder how they train agents to scope out and identify a potential Catholic anti-abortion extremist? Or an illegal immigrant victim/extremist?

What physical descriptions and profile do they use?

Someone wearing a crucifix?

Someone who avoids Mexican restaurants, and puts a May Day wreath out the week of Cinco de Mayo?

Those that watch their state college football game rather than the Army/Navy game?

Those that don't stand up with their hands over their hearts for the Pledge of Allegiance for which the words "liberty" and "justice" have not been their experiences as of late or fly their flags upside down?

Those that write "letters to the editor" on the political corruption and broken promises?

Those that speak out or confront the hypocricy of politicians who arrange for photo ops at local soup kitchens or when speaking to disabled veterans groups putting in their two or three hours in order to assauge some of their guilt against their fellow countrymen?"

Just how many agents has the Department of Homeland Security budgeted for this now monumental task?

I feel a sense of "sour grapes" here! The "OLD" FBI spent a helluva
lot of time on ""lefties" like the Kennedys,Kings, environmentalists,
anti-war protesters, Seegers, etc. Methinks thou dost protest too
loudly considering such little survelliance on KKK types, Tim McVieghs
and Saudi Arabian industrialist friends of Bush have sneaked under
the radar to your country's detriment! We all behoove the constant
watch of "Big Brother"..you just seem to want to forget who was under
the microscope for so long that any change in a table turned is Treason!
Hell..Tony Blair had to clean house at MI5 & MI6 when he gained government in Britian. It comes with the job!It is only unfortunate that Obama hasn't had the cajones to do such a clean sweep!

As a Canadian, it appears, our Constitution is a little different than yours. And am amazed that you would inject yourself into an American political matter without really much knowledge, apparently, at all since you don't even live here - whether a natural born Canadian, or an ex-patriot. Living in the country, and reading the garbage in the news and mainstream media are two different things.

And you are way off on the history of America insofar as the Kennedy era since Kennedy was the President that really got us into Viet Nam.

What makes you think Canadians know nothing about the US? You seem
to have that distinct American trait of contempt for anyone outside
your borders. This cultural/political "tunnel Vision" is what irks
the rest of the world when it comes to US relations. Canada & US
have the worlds largest border, were allies in the 1st,2nd, Korean
and now Afghani wars. We opted out of Vietnam & Iraq by choice
(not cowardice!) We share the resources and our trade relationship
is the largest in the world. Many of our entertainers and musicians
delight you as yours do us.
I have grandchildren in the US (no..I'm NOT an expat/draft dodger)
I've worked for the USAF in Germany in my youth (1970-71)
I am neither ignorant of your country's history or Politic. I
doubt most US citizens can say the same of their Northern neighbor
    and ally!

Yes, we do share one of the largest borders. And also have much in common - but our form of government is not one of them. I can read the Canadian Constitution, and also Americas. Very different, as Canada still is a British province, after all. And we did fight our first war primarily to get away from your form of government, after all - which is still under monarchial rule, even though diluted over time.

In Canada, the government IS sovereign. In America, it is not.

HUGE difference. So as a paralegal, I can read legal documents and learn all I know about the differences in our countries - while you wish to stress the similarities. And that difference in government and its structure is monumental.

And it appears you aren't even an American to boot.

So I wonder why your man Obama isn't preventing something like the McVeigh occurrence from happening once again, unlike Ms. Napolitano's targets. After all, isn't "change" in foreign policy insofar as ending this war (although he voted for it each time the appropriations bills have come up, and just asked for another 83 billion for more). That's all the liberals seemed to talk about during Bush's term - ending the war. Now hardly a peep. From Wiki:

The carnage McVeigh witnessed created one of the early roots of his hatred of the US government.[citation needed] At Fort Riley, McVeigh completed the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC). McVeigh later would say that the Army taught him how to switch off his emotions.[5] He had special lifesaving training and may have saved the life of a comrade who had life-threatening shrapnel wounds.[

Do you know ANYTHING about the Kennedys? About Bobby Kennedy and the Hoffa era? About the unions and their "misrepresentation" of their union members? About the "Camelot" in which I lived in which we had duck and cover exercises, and were fed sugar cubes as children so that in the event the bomb was dropped those little sugar cubes would "save" us from radiation sickness?

How old are you? Since you do seem qutie clueless.

I'm 56 and have some memory of "air raid" practices in school as a
child. I do remember how Bobby K. hounded Hoffa and his brother's
pedadillos with the "mob" I know Joseph Kennedy was as "right wing" and bigoted as they come. As for being an "Obama Lover"...
Initially,I was swept up in the Obamaphenom with the hope of Change
for as a Canadian with family in the states I had much interest in
the economic & social direction the states was heading. I still
wish Obama all the best, but have become a bit more cynical of late
with some of his administration's policy.

I really appreciate the "clueless" goad. I next expect the typical
American about me being Canadian. Since most Americans know little
about things outside their culture..this is to be expected!

  • Reply By Ross1776 Ross1776 | 7 months ago
No, actually I know a great deal about things outside my culture, since I was a 45 year border state resident I am an expert on the Mexican government and its corruption.

But as a Canadian then your original message was far, far more ill conceived and misdirected than my comment on your being clueless, if you read it again. And really unappropriate to begin with - as a Canadian, since our Constitution is VERY much different than Canada's, and also our intended form of government since to my knowledge, Canada is still a British province, after all. The country we fought a war to escape dominion and control, while our leaders seem to be placing our country more and more under dictates of the "world" government, rather than our own.

So your comments truly were out of line, as someone with little knowledge of our intended form of government.

And Obama is in with the union and their mafia types. Which still exist. And also is beholding to the bankers and Wall Streeet. As was Bush. Another blinded liberal.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. If you will note I stated that 3/4's the citizens have been targeted. And you are making this a party issue, it appears. And it is not. Not at all.

You are apparently one who is an Obama lover, right or wrong. I don't see this war ending, do you? I don't see surveillance decreasing under the Patriot Act, do you? I don't see our borders being secured which is costing untold American lives and has caused more loss of life and property than 9/11 to Americans, do you. I'm sure you believe in illegal immigrant "rights," also, and open borders. No matter that "common defense" of Americans lives and property is actually the foundational job of the feds.

You are, as with the illegals who make it a "race" issue, making this a "party" issue. And, again, it is not.

I don't hold with Timothy McVeigh and what occurred - but would appear you as a liberal would probably be more understanding than I would. He was a distressed veteran apparently that unfortunately hooked up for one of those unnecessary engagements under a Democratic administration, as I recall. He targeted a governmental institution, not civilians actually. And I'm making no excuses except that the liberals have been known to throw a bomb or two - since I lived through the SDS era, and the Panther movement.

Sort of like the "possee" the local Sheriff in Arizona uses in order to "catch and release" illegal immigrants there. Most are from the Midwest or East Coast. None of them would know a Navajo from a Mexican or a Middle Easterner. Nor even a Caucasian if they are olive complexed of Italian, German or Spanish ancestry. That has been my entire point with the border situation. You cannot address the immigration "problem" until you stop the flow, and the methods at the local levels have turned local communities now into almost combat zones. I left after 45 years, since the terrorism going on made me the mother from h*ll since I was afraid to let my daughters out the door every day - one of which was olive complexed.

Well, blaming the Christians at Texas Christian you might think that is the pool but believe me it is not, that appears to be another propaganda tool used by the lefties - blame the Christians. When Bush was no Christian, simply marketed as one by Rove. And it isn't the State of Texas fault, either - since Bush is and was basically a Yalie.

I haven't flown since they started making you take you shoes off due to the British bomber - that was when I'd had enough. And so my carbon footprints are quite small. I never truly liked flying to begin with after the first novelty trip to visit relatives. I'd rather take a bus at this point.

BRITISH PROVINCE..Get your facts straight friend. Your flag-waving,
jingostic pride in your country is only superceded by your obvious
dislike of your country coupled with your ignorance of my country!

This is a lively, if not colorful, debate. I am also a border native, having lived near the Vancouver B.C. border in Washington as a youth. I love being an american and part of that responsibility is to promote american values. Going to Vancouver was always a big thrill for me (and it's not because the drinking age was 18 instead of 21), the people are different; I think more open-minded. One other topic of information for Ross - and I am not trying to pick a fight with anyone - there are fusion centers in the major cities accross America, which are surveillance centers. Its purpose, a contribution of the Homeland Security Data Network and the National Counterterrorism Center, is to find illegal chatter to find and interrogate anyone suspected. The standard is "all crimes and hazards." The problem that I see with this is that I was speeding yesterday which is considered a crime. The language is too broad and we could be climbing a slippery slope in our zeal to protect our nation. Striking a balance is key.
